Will it annoy me tremendously? I know everyone's subjective about screens but will a smaller screen drive me nuts if I game for long periods of time?

Everyone has their own personal preferences. I would go to Best Buy, and find a 14inch screen, and see what your personal opinion is. I think 14inch is "gameable" but 13 inch would be pushing it.

14 inch is personally very good for gaming. After a while my 17" and 19" actually seem way too big. I play my games on native resolution on a 14" widescreen and its great.

I think a 14" is fine for Gaming. But I still prefer to connect my laptop to my external 19" LCD whenever possible.
