Hey, with my Toshiba A100 here...i've tried running stress tests on battery even with full power on and im getting about 1/2 - 1/3 of the power that i do when im plugged into the wall...is this normal? is there any way to increase the performance to match a 110v outlet. (also, im running a 6cell battery and plan to get a 12cell battery, doubt that will affect it but what do i know)

have you tried Notebook Hardware Control (NHC)? You can use it to change how the cpu throttles its clock speed for battery or ac power. It's probably the computer conserving energy and not maxing out its performance. Also, if you have ATI, check out the PowerPlay option.

If you don't want to try NHC look into toshiba's control panel and make sure that your profile is not a battery saving mode. I'd prefer installing NHC

It's normal. The video card automatically downclocks on battery to save power.
