well i have dell inspiron 15R 5520(i5+4GB+500GB+7670m) .i bought BF3 10 days back and i play it around 8 hours a day.A friend of mine who has dell xps laptop says that i should not play games on my inpiron cuz its not meant for gaming.although im quite satisfied about gaming performance of my laptop but he says that my laptop will fail soon if i play games on it...so i wanted to know is that true that my laptop isnt meant for casual gaming at all?

he is talking about overheat, the dell may not have a good cooling system, use HWMONITOR while playing BF3 for exemple and tell us the temps..

if it is playing fine I wouldn't worry about it to much, Just check your temperatures every once in a while to make sure your system isn't getting to hot. Also make sure your machine always has good ventilation. ;)

as mentioned keep an eye on your temps. download HW Monitor and Core temps from my signature below and run them on your desktop when you game.

The thermal throttling temperature of Ivy Bridge CPU's is all the way at 105 degrees C so 78 should be completely safe. GPUs are usually designed for around 100 degrees too so 65 is nothing to worry about. Hard disk have maximum operating temperatures around 60.
