There's been a lot of discussion regarding Studio XPS 1330 on the forum, and after reading almost 200 pages worth of comments I can't find much information and dry fact regarding the laptop's performance in the actual games.

I know by now many people received their Studio XPS, my question is have you been running some demanding games on the 9500M G? How is the performance of this graphics solution, which is supposed to be 2nd best among all 13 inch laptops (second only to LG 310p with 9600M GT, which seems to be impossible to get in the UK).

All I know for sure at the moment is that Studio 13 scores on average 3500 points in 3dMark06, similar to the 8600M GT. What I have also heard is that despite the similar score, 8600M GT is clearly more powerful.

Those who have ran some recent games ie Bioshock, Medieval, Dawn of War, Fallout 3, COD 4/5, Crysis, Left4Dead, GTA could you comment on performance? I'm sure many current and future users would be very interested to know!

9500m g is the retarded child of the 9500m gs. and will no perform near as well as the 8600m gt's. you could probably run games on low and low res about 20 fps. dont even mention crysis it will tear it apart we are talk ing maybe 5-10 fps. not good.

I think you are very hasty to write off the card, and your response doesnt actually answer the question I asked in the slightest :).

Regarding 20FPS and low settings, this is simply incorrect. I am running Bioshock at the moment on custom medium/high settings in 800x600 and the performance is very satisfactory (fluent) on my xps 1330 with 8400M GS and the latest (original) NVIDIA laptop driver. I also run Fallout 3 on Low 800x500 with 25+ FPS. This card scores 1300 pts in 3dMark 06. Now you are suggesting that 9500M G, which scores 3500, performs even worse?

Please respond with facts not guesses and on topic if possible thanks :)

the only difference between the 8400 gt and the 9500m g is a die shirink and clock rate. 8600m gt will clearly beat the 9500m g card b/c it has 2x the shaders. so no i did not say it will perform worse. it will be better but not much. squeeze more out of by getting riva tuner and overclocking. and sorry i meant to type 20-30fps. and i meant lower settings.

Still it's the best card to get in a 13 inch laptop in Europe and probably US at the moment, so I don't really have a choice :). Might be just a typo in your post when you said 8400m GT, the card I'm using atm to play Bioshock mid/high and Fallout 3 Low 800x600 is 8400m GS.

I still hope the new card to be quite an upgrade in performance over my current XPS m1330! Studio arrives this Tues so we'll just have to wait and see. Looking forward to some hard facts and figures from others until then!

ok it was a typo i thought it was the gt version so it will perform much better than the gs.

I'm coming from an 8600m GT. I can say that the 9500 is not the greatest but what do you expect from a 13 incher. Kinda bothers me that I can't play COD4 on 1280x800 when the 8600 would play it smoothly on 1440 x 900

I was planning to play COD4 a lot on my new laptop. Can you run it fluent in 1024x768 on High then?
