    :D Hi all! I just recently ordered a Sager NP5790 from Xoticpc.com
I ordered it with an 8700GT and the WUXGA(1920x1200) LCD.
    Total cost $2,239.00.

Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has tried Bioshock in that resolution with that video card.

I know my desktop runs it great in that resolution, but it's got an 8800GTS, And I got the 8700GT because I plan to run DX10 games ALOT on my new notebook, so DX9 wasn't an option.

I'd really like to see some other benchmarks, or avg fps too, like for oblivion, FEAR, and CS:S/HL2 w/HDR, Bioshock, BF2142 all in 1920x1200 at max settings with no AA. Not just the synthetic benchmarks

I realize it won't perform all that great in it's native res, but I'd still like to see how it performs.

I looked around and couldn't find this topic, so if it's been talked about already, please post me a link! Thanks!

The 8700M GT is faster than the mobile 7900GTX.

I have a 7800GTX and it play fairly well at mid settings in Bioshock @ 1920x1200.

So I would not worry too much on any performance issues.

well yea, but I'd like to know how it performs in Bioshock at MAX settings in 1920x1200... I don't compromise the quality in any game :D

    Hi

I think that you shouldn´t expect to much at that high ressolution.

The 8700M GT is a 128bit graphic card, even with 128bit dual rank, it´s not even close to an 256bit memory bus. That will be a limiting factor in such high ressolution.

I can always try to overclock the core and memory, you should gain some performance: (Tosh X205)
    ;)

If I were you I'd forget gaming at that resolution. In some new games, that'd even present a problem for a 320mb 8800GTS, let alone a mobile 8700GT. Unless of course, you like high res with lowish-mid options, which'd probably look like crap compared to running at high settings at a lower resolution with a bit of AA or AF

I'd agree with several posts in this thread - HavoK, chillout, and Audigy. The 8700M-GT is a great card for sure, but its 128-bit bus will considerably dampen its performance at WUXGA. The highest resolution you should expect to play at in the latest games is WXGA+ 1440x900. I tested the Toshiba X205 with the 8700M-GT 256MB and it was a very capable performer at that resolution.

I'd be interested in you running some benchmarks however....

I'd like to get some real numbers for higher resolutions and the 8700m.

Also interesting will be to see how powerful that clevo enclosure is for cooling the 8700m... the 8700m is a cool customer and the clevo enclosure is designed for cooling much hotter cards.

You ought to be able to OC that already powerful overclockign card to the liits of the hardware they put in it...

lol! yes! I'm well aware that I'll be playing in 1440x900 about for most games to get all the graphical goodies and good performance.. I just wanted to know just how bad that my native rez will kill it! :D

Actually, I expected about 1/2 or less the performance of my desktop. Wow! with an nice OC I think I can achieve the uber res + max graphics for bioshock and still run nicely! Oh, and I plan on buying a 9700GT when they're released anyhow :D Woot 4 MXM!
