Anyone know if there is any major difference with the Vostro 1500 and inspiron 1520 with respect to gaming performance....i ask this cause i configured both systems with the exact same specs and the Vostro cost $300 more.. also it costs more to put more ram in the vostro and its warranty is more expensive why??

No....configured exactly the same spec-wise...you will get the same performance.

The reason why the Vostros is more expensive is because of how it looks and AFAIK there are no coupons for them like the Inspirons. I personally liked the Inspirons better.

As far as I can see, the Vostro doesnt have a 7200 RPM drive option for some reason. So all other things being equal, an inspiron with 7200RPM drive should have a little better gaming-loading performance, and game-playing performance for any games that load from the drive mid game.

    Just received mine today.
Haven't even had time to play around.

I had the option and chose the T7300 Base with a 160GB SATA 7200RPM.

Are you are happy with it's gaming ability?

The Vostro was only more expensive because dell had a free 2gb mem and 160gb hdd upgrade for the inspirons. CHeck now, the Vostros are much cheaper

Those $300 coupons really help the Inspiron though. You can get a pretty damn good notebook that way

My *guess* about why a warranty is more expensive on a Vostro is as follows:

The Vostro is a business notebook, and business notebooks are generally constructed better and more durable, so if something is actually wrong with the Vostro, it's a big issue.
