Which of these games are any good? I have read mixed reviews about the Godfather game since there are awkward controls, difficult tasks with few save points, and old graphics.

I have read nothing less than stellar reviews for Mafia. Any opinions?

    Has anyone tried Scarface?

I am just waiting on the next game, Good Fellas!

EDIT: After dilligent searching, I have not seen anything indicating that Scarface has been released.

I have played godfather and an 8 out of 10,maybe a 7.5 would do justice.Anything else is just overkill. I'd go with Mafia.

I read the reviews of Mafia. It looks addicting. The reason I was enamored by Scarface is that I saw that when I was younger. It was one of the first VHS movies that I bought. God, I sound old.

EDIT: I found the game for $10. I am going to check out how it plays today. Right now I am converting it to a CD ROM image so I can play it without having to carry the three disks around.

Very smooth graphics and driving the car was fun. Just doing the introductory scene was 'interesting'. I roamed around the city with the bat and ....

I have played and completed mafia and godfather. I played mafia for PC while i played godfather for PS2. I would have to say that godfather, although a great idea is not such a great game. It was far too competitive and there really isnt anything to do other than the missions.

Mafia i played when it had just came out, and i thought the graphics were awesome then, but the story line and gameplay were all phenomenal and i am thinking of playing through it again as we speak. Very cool, and very realistic game! Definately go with mafia: great game & since i has been out for a while you should be able to pick it up for next to nothing.

    Hope this helps!

It acts as an outlet for frustration, especially when I do a 'rampage' down the street with a bat and my weapons.

one thing i loved about the game, was that everything was made to be like it was back then: The cars move slow, nobody has a MAC 10 or UZI, you get to smuggle alcohol, and you can beat the crap out of anone/anything you want!!!

I have all three: Mafia, godfather and scarface. I like Mafia alot better then the other two but you can't compare because it's a different story. Scarface is just like GTA games. Be prepare because in Scarface, it's swears alot. In english and spanish. Theres a taunt botton that makes Tony says things that Mom won't be aprrove of :D . It's pretty good acting and fun to play if you like blasting your way to the end. My system can run it but it's too slow. 800x600 low settings.

yea lots of swearing and drugs and killing but scareface is still way fun.... its like gta but 1000 times better and you build up an empire. you can also get drivers and stuff to do things for you or if you get bored you can do missions for your driver or assasin and get money.

I started playing Godfather. The shooting interface is awkward - even with a joystick. As I get 'iced' I run into problems with the controller reconfiguring itself and I cannot seem to get the controller to work correctly.

    EDIT:
    I just found the link:
    http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8706

Overall, game control except for shooting is good and I like how I can use the mouse and joystick as opposed to Mafia.

    I haven't tried Scarface, yet.

The PSP edition of Scarface is terrible! I wrote a review over at gamespot.com for it. Godfather is pretty good on all consoles, although I haven't played the PS2 version, it should be similar to the PC one. The PSP edition is fairly short.
