Heres my would be stats...
Pentium M (1.86ghz)
100gb (5,400)
ATI Radeon X700 (128mb)
1gig ram
17" Ultrabright WXGA TFT Active Matrix (1440 x 900 max. resolution)
This is a very attractive package for the price...i'm worried that the graphics card wont be able to handle games like F.E.A.R, or Doom 3, and i'm worried that when i scale back resolutions it will look wierd w/ the gigantic 17in wide screen...are me fears irrational? Will the vid card handle most games decently? and is 17in too big for that card? hmm thanks. :gateway:

fear is a next generation game that no current video card can handle at max setting. x700 should handle doom3 well enough, it's just little bit slower than desktop 9800pro. please note that not all games support widescreen, and those that do support it would require you to play at higher resolution than what the x700 can handle.

thats a **** shame...hmm looks like i'll have to shell out an extra 500 or so for the Gateway w/ the Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 256mb...gulp.thanks though, the screen is soo massive...i guess it will be a problem w/o a top of the line card.

The X700 is PLENTY to handle Doom 3, and can probably push it up into 1024x768. Nothing these days handles F.E.A.R. terribly well, but it will be plenty playable on the X700 as well.
I have an X600 in my system that's substantially slower than the X700 and I can play both of these games. -

Yes, agreed with what Pulp stated. My X700 handles whatever games I throw at it.
Far Cry runs great at 1280x1024 at "Very High", and Doom 3 is nice on High at XGA.
Very powerful card indeed.
Gateway® NX850X what can it do?
