I agree. I've used both the 81.97 and 82.30 Extreme G mobile drivers from tweeksrus which do allow you to overclock (or shall we say improve the underclocking) and am having major blue screen crashes - nav_disp.dll in infinite loop error. I too want to safely overclock my card (i assume you have dell 9400?).

Just want to let you guys know I'm not ignoring you - I don't have an Nvidia card, so I can't really help, and I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. ;) I have ATI in both my desktop and laptop.

I know some of our Dell i9300 users overclock their video card. . let's wait for them to chime in.

Remember with overclocking - it is not entirely safe. Sure, it is to a certain extent (most of the time), but if you set something the wrong way, you can damage your card. It's risky, but well worth the performance boost in my opinion.

Don't know anything about the 7800 in the i9400, but in the XPS, the BIOS doesn't allow overclocks. I had to flash my card's BIOS in order to overclock mine. Is that the problem you guys are having??

I used RivaTuner to overclock my 6600GT. Should also work with laptop cards.

I guess you'll need to give a little more information then. What do you mean when you say you can't install them?? They won't install at all, aren't working properly, not sure how to install them?? What exactly is happening with your computer??

you can't use any drivers with a dell laptop, you have to download dells from their website, which dont allow you to overclock..if you want to overclock, and use the other drivers, you have to download the driver and replace a file in the drivers so your laptop will accept the desktop drivers...then you can overclock...i wish i could tell you how to do this but i forgot..someone here should be able to help you out. i did it when i first got my laptop, but to be honest i got better performance out of the dell driver.

I'm using the 81.** driver (can't remember) all i had to do to get it to work was uninstall the dell drivers then restart when it asked a question about increasing the resolution click no (i click yes once and it reinstalled my dell drivers automatically) then while at the super low res install the 81.** driver and it should work, did for me anyway. Hope this helped

    (I've got a 9400)
