Well, I'm trying to sell my asus on ebay now(and my xbox360), just in time for a GF go8800 notebook :)

I really don't care that the card has downclocking issues, I really couldnt care how much battery life it has, as long as it's over 10 minutes!
I just hope they dont overheat fast! Also, I hope a single card can play CrySiS!!

I wonder if there will be a dell 9400 (e1705) version of the card!

I don't think the go8800 is coming out until closer to the end of the year. I've only heard about G84 and G86 coming out in the Spring/Summer time frame.

That doesn't mean that the 8800 isn't coming out. The G84/G86 are simply the chipsets that the graphics cards are built on; for instance, the Go 7900 is built on the G71 chipset, but the Go 7400 is built on the G72 chipset, and the Go 7200 is on the G73 chipset. This indicates that nVidia uses higher chipset numbers to correspond to lower end cards, so the G84 could be referring to the Go 8800 and the G86 corresponds to the Go 8600/8400. However, Clevo's announcement that their new uber-laptop will initially ship with 7950GTX's and not 8800s may be an indicator that you are right.

Maybe you mean't Gxx are simply the GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) that graphics cards are based on.

Referring to desktop side, G84M will be Go 8600 and G86M Go 8400. The Go 8800 isn't coming out before Nvidia can manufacture with 65nm process.

Hmm... from other forums that I've been in... I've been told to never truly trust the inquirer... as most of the information is misleading...

But yes... a DX10 card for notebooks would be nice =D

Especially if they came out before school starts back up =[

Most probably there wont be any 9400 (e1705) anymore... Dell is rumored to redesign the chassis for all it's notebook line so dun expect the cards to fit in perfectly... or not at all

But you may expect a 17" Dell with Santa Rosa platform and DX 10 8xxx series (just like the Inspiron 9300 and 9400).

I just can't wait for DX 10 in notebooks. I hope they will also support XP.

Too bad for me, i was hoping to get a 8 series in my new notebook, but my parents decided to get a IGP notebook for me. Does anyone know a rough price on a 8 series notebook?

If you want a GeForce 8 + Santa Rosa notebook, you're probably looking at about $1,500 or more. That's just an estimate though. Take a look at the prices for the X1600/Go7600 equipped notebooks and add a few hundred. The price will come down over time but initially the prices for Santa Rosa notebooks will be high.

I'm hoping for a dv9000 + Centrino Pro & GeForce 8600 by June. That's right around my birthday, someone tell HP for me!
