Q is kinda simple.. Anyone able to rate this graph card? Comes with the Fin version of the Asus V1S and just wondering if it will do any good.. Does it save battery power/is it worse than a "regular" 8600 without the TurboCache feature?

TurboCache is NVIDIA's way of borrowing main system RAM when it needs to. All the NVIDIA cards use it these days, there's no way to turn it on/off or change the settings for it.

TurboCache is fine, you'll want it just because it's built in to all modern Nvidia cards as a sort of safe catch for when your video memory becomes overloaded. Theoretically it softens the blow that normally occurs when you max out your video memory. Instead of suddenly dropping from 40FPS in a game to 15 (because your vRam just filled up and is shuffling crap around) it drops to 25 because it can latch onto your system ram.

Cool.. Thanks for that.. But anyone know how much vram this card has on its own? I read the 1gb TurboCache as it can take upto 1gb of system ram right?

The card will have 256MB or 512MB dedicated ram of its own. I think the V1s with the 8600M GT comes with 512MB and the 8600M GS version with 256MB dedicated ram. It can then take up to 512 - 756MB of system ram (but will not do so very often.)
