I was very surprised by my score. With this card I've never gotten more then 4400 marks (running XP). This is my first test with WIndows 7 and i'm amazed by it. I'm going to test XP with the same setting as this one. Check back soon!
UPDATE:
Windows XP benchmark: 5131 Marks

I think it has more to do with the driver than anything. 179 series is famous for its high benchmark score, but in terms of gaming performance, I'd prefer the modded 18X.XX series, but of course, these modded drivers may cause some functions to go hay wire (not as serious as it sounds)

hmm, i get mid 5k with a mild overclock on 179.48 drivers on 1280x800. And with a decent overclock i get into the low 6k range.
-
I'm thinkin' about upgrading my CPU. I wan't to get a T8300. Would this improve my gaming performance at all?
-
naww dont upgrade....just use setfsb and clock ur t5750 up a bit...im sure that chip can do about 2.2 to 2.4ghz
-
I don't know the clock gen #. Would you know how I could locate that?
-
NVM found it! OC'd to 2286MHz. No problems yet.
-
-
Did another 3DMARK06 test. This time with my T5750 OC'd to 2305MHz. Bumped up my score.
-
Another test: This one I OC'd the CPU to 2400MHz and brought down the Memory clock of GPU to 705MHz.
Received 5832 Marks!

Envy envy envy for being able to overclock your CPU AND for having a GDDR3 GeForce 8600M GT.
I couldn't hit those benches if I tried. -
hummm, 5800 is what my 9600gt gets at 610/520... it's ddr2 tho

So I wouldn't bother upgrading the CPU if you intend to look for better scores or better game performance.
As far as encoding and editing etc are concerned then yeah CPU all the way.. -
Yeah your right. What I really want to do is upgrade my 8600m gt to a 9600m gt. But I'm uncertain of finding one that is compatible with my lenovo.
-
You won't find one - no Lenovo notebooks use the upgradeable graphics card form known as MXM.
-
How are you able to overclock CPU? Where can I read more about it. Can I do it too?

Also OCing creates more heat having 4 x 9500rpm fans on this brick helps overcome this problem I think many laptops have much less cooling for their CPU's despite using less power.
