Hello, I've been having trouble playing battlefield 2142 on my new laptop. It won't even get to the loading movies before giving me a battlefield2142.exe has stopped responding. Now I've tried pretty much everything google has offered from Running in administrator to renaming the movie folders. I haven't updated the drivers on the card because I do feel that they are up to date.
Now, the question is does battlefield not compatible with this card? Or is it because I am running vista 64 bit? (I've also tried to run in compat. mode for XP SP2 which doesn't work due to copyright protection on the disk itself)
My notebooks specs are
Windows Home Premium (64)
4gigs of ram
1gig turbomem
80gig HDD
512mb 8700m gt
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, if I can't get this running thats $30.00 down the drain :[ !

What's the refresh rate of your screen?
59Hz screens seem to have trouble. -
62Hz, though I am not sure if another setting is applied upon starting this game.

Those 62Hz are your problem.

It seems the guy in that thread solved it by chaging a file named 'video.con'
