I was wondering if anybody here knew if this worked with the sims 2? Reason being is that it is one of my favorite games, and I heard that nvidia didnt work well with it.
Also if I have XP will I be able to scale the screen (to 4:3) with this graphic card? The screen is a 17" WSXGA=LCD 1680x1050 if that has anything to do with it.

I'm pretty sure it'll work well with that game (compatibility-wise). Good question btw.
As for the scaling, I think it depends. I think (depending on your monitor) it'll stretch or show the black bars to fit it as a 4:3 resolution. I'm not sure exactly.
Edit: BTW, this should technically be in the Gaming forum because this is for 'Desktop Hardware' not notebooks. -
OK, thanks just wanted to make sure. I just hope it puts up black bars instead of stretching.
Sorry about putting this thread here also. -
under flat panel scaling in the Nvidia control panel, you can set it to fixed aspect ratio, which allows you to play games unstretched, with black bars.

Yes
the control panel is OS-independant -
OK thank you.

I had a Vaio AR570 with the Nvidia 8600GT and played Sims2 with it with no problems for the month I had it before getting my money back ( too many problems not related to the 8600 ). Now I'm waiting for my 9262 with twice the cores, twice the ram and an 8800 gtx for $300 less than the Vaio
