I never really paid much attention, but does the driver that's released for the game actually make the game better? Say, that I can get ultra settings one drive down 353.06, why Use 350.30?

Is is just me, or does "no fixed issues" just scream at you as evidence of clueless incompetence? With the threads at GeForce Community literally blowing up with reports of problems and serious malfunction, you'd think that fixes might be a priority for them.

They added a line for the new Batman game to the profile settings. That's a change worth of a new version number. Isn't it? Isn't it?

They can. But marketing requires ever-increasing version numbers. New version number lets them say it's a new game-ready driver for the new game you want to play without actually lying about the package being new. Because new is new and better and shinier and better and... and... stuff.

    Or not.

Drivers are fine for me for the time being. Just installed it on my Windows 7 SSD, and it bumped some of my 3DMark graphics scores. No Chrome problems thus far either. Going to with my GTX 960 and my games later today.
Mobile Maxwell core overclocking is still intact, in case anybody wanted to know.

I installed it without a hitch, but every driver installation I perform is a mod. Not sure what system you have that it is failing to install on, but it probably has something to do with a missing hardware ID. I know mine is not missing because I added it prior to attempting the installation.

I never run the installer from the EXE I downloaded. Since I have WinRAR installed, I can simply right click on the EXE and choose extract to folder. From there, I run the setup.exe

don't know if that makes any difference but I don't like how the setup installer extracts its files to C:\nCRAPIA folder to I like it this way to have the entire setup package where it belongs with my other driver files.

Same here. I use 7-zip, right click the EXE on my desktop and extract to a folder on the desktop, mod it, then move it to my data drive after installation. That also "breaks" the registry keys (on purpose) that map to the original extraction/installation folder. The folder is no longer where Windows last found it, so it cannot use any of the files from the installation folder later on unless I want to.

Exactly! Forgot to mention that is one of the reasons I prefer extracting it in order for the installer not to create invalid registry entries (installation paths)

I actually want those invalid installation paths in the registry, so I manually extract, install, then move, to help decrease the likelihood of Windows finding the files later on. After rebooting, I run CCleaner. It flags the invalid installation paths in the registry entries and I delete them. The more we can do to prevent Windows from making decisions for us, the healthier (and stabler) our systems will be. Making wrong decisions got worse in Windows 8.X and now it looks like Windows 10 might be making even more of them by force, against our will. Happy, happy, joy, joy.

    ---Edit---
Since we already removed any excuses for failure with the last screen shot showing degraded performance at stock GPU clocks, here's an example of what many of us really care about--overclocking--and as you can see it's an ugly picture. So, the liars were telling the truth about removing clock-blocking, but the part of the story they are not being forthright about is what happens for some folks that do overclock... worse than stock.

Its like NVIDIA doesnt bother testing their drivers anymore before releasing them. Every new driver they've released lately has been crap. For me every driver after 350.12 has been completely unstable on my 750m notebook

Why should they test when they have us as beta testers for their so called WHQL drivers? I remember back then, WHQL certification meant something, it meant driver has had to go through rigorous tests before being classified as WHQL. Now every driver I see from crapVIDIA has WHQL next to it, just makes me yawn.......

not even trying this driver, in fact, I'm close to checking out of this completely. What's the point, I have a system that will be obsolete in a year or 2 if it runs correctly. It doesn't so it's almost obsolete now. But, something I have found recently with the last 2 driver releases and the modded 345.20 is that my system runs better with adaptive performance selected. I only throttle down into the mid 700's instead of high 5's and low 6's when I have prefer maximum performance selected. Most of the time I'm in the 800's when adaptive is selected. (when it throttles).

I know that isn't much help but just curious if that behavior is present with this new driver as well. It's like they not only dont really want people to overclock like you guys, they don't even want us using anything remotely close to high performance. It's borderline criminal at this point.

Nvidia should just give us 350.12 with updated profiles for latest games then trash can every driver after 350.12 . Then the driver developers need to get together in a room and smoke about 25 blunts and rethink what the heck there doing. Then come back to work the next day and start from scratch.

After reading the gforce forums and this thread I'm not even going to attempt trying the 3rd failed driver from nvidia. I'm staying with 350.12 . The only downside is I have to play witcher3 with one card instead of sli. But at least everything else on my laptop functions properly .

Certainly. No reason to keep it and I don't even have one. I do keep the installer folder with my modded INF files in case the new drivers are garbage. Since they have all been trash after February, I find myself testing and going back to my same driver month after month now. If and when I eventually get a newer driver for 780M SLI that does not induce throttling and other anomalies, then I will save that one and delete the one I have saved now.

You can test the new driver, use NVIDIA Inspector to export specific profiles updated by the new driver, go back to the older driver that worked right and use NVIDIA Inspector to import the profiles. This works pretty nicely most of the time. Or, you can use GeForce Experience and accomplish basically the same thing if you can put up with its tackiness.

    Mrfox.
I will look into doing just that. I didn't know you could do that.
I thought that's why everyone gets so mad including me because in order to play latest games in sli you had to have latest driver installed. And if driver doesn't work or constantly crashes and you have to go back to older driver like a lot of us then you loose the sli profile in the latest crappy driver.
    I'm still learning . Lol

Unpacking Arkham Knight and downloading the drivers as I type this. I'll post some feedback after playing a while. According to the steam forums some people are saying this is yet another terrible PC release. It seems like everything I shell out money for has this reputation.

    I will be cautiously optimistic.

Here is the modified .inf for 353.30 driver.
Unpack the .zip file and copy into the Display.Driver folder

Just tested in 3DMark, benchmarks tests are ok in stock clocks but throttle occurs if any overclock is added in both gpu and memory clocks.

I don't do mods since I never saw the benefit. These are all stock at stock nVIDIA Settings meaning I could've lowered the texture quality and turned off other stuff but I let everything be on default

Because that will leave invalid registry entries pertaining to installation paths (file not found). I don't know about Mr. Fox but I never use registry cleaners and this way I ensure my registry is clean.

Even they have us as beta testers its still like they're ignoring the feedback of every driver thats been released lately and its getting worse and worse.

I just replicate what @j95 did in previous nv_dispi.inf file in 353.30 driver. I think there's a tutorial here in this forum about it.

353.30 driver working fine for me, no issues, same performance as previous driver in game benchmarks (F1 2012, Metro Last Light, Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham Origins) & 3DMark tests. Works fine in Assassins Creed Unity, haven't tested other games yet. No throttling issues.

Performance test in-game gave me an average of 39fps @ 1920x1080 res w/ all settings maxed.

After playing a few hours... this game is ****ing gorgeous and amazingly optimized. It just highlights how much of a travesty Watch_Dogs was. Very minimal slowdowns. I'm very happy with how this performs for what my system is capable of.

Seems like the new drivers did their job thus far.
