We need more information that what you're providing (needs, what you want to do with the notebook, etc) - perhaps you'd consider completing the FAQ in the what should I buy forum so we can give you recommendations.
My recommendation - go for the Dell if you want a 17" and like the play games. The Go7900GS is leaps and bounds ahead of the Go7600 in terms of performance, even though the Go7600 itself is quite a powerhouse. -
The 7900 has a little more than double the power of the 7600.
-
It does? I thought that the stock score of a 7600 is around 4k while a stock score for a 7900 gs is around 6k?
-
Benchmarks dont equate to real world performance.
-
They don't equate but I'm sure they are in a ballpark range and aren't off by more than 10-15%? Maybe the pipelines etc equal 200% of the x1600 idk
edit: found the specs...still does this mean 3d mark does not take advantage of the hardware, thus not producing the 2x score?

The Go7900GS is a high-end card while the Go7600 is midrange. The 7900 has a lot more pixel shader units and a 256-bit memory interface - it will be far better performing at higher resolutions, and if you decide to add AA/AF.
The Go7600 is in no way a bad card, but if you're going with a 17" and want to game, get the Dell. The Go7900GS is worth every penny.
