Which one is better for gaming? Has anyone done a comparison with benchmarks?

i like the 7800gtx..but that is preference. i think both flagship cards are just about equal, with maybe a few benchmarks higher/lower..but more or less the same.

    try google for benchmarks.

    pb,out.

Try looking at some desktop benchmarks. They're not exactly comparable, but the results should be proportional. I have not seen more than one set of benchmarks for the X1800.

Probably will be pretty close in performance though. Take a look at the charts stickied at the top of this forum, thanks.

If you go to www.rockdirect.co.uk and go to thier forums you can find some benchmarks. They are pretty much equal in thier notebook versions except for the slight advantages in certain games (doom3, half life 2, etc). Nvidia has "pure video" and Ati has "Avivo" which may be useful to you in someway. The main advantage of the X1800XT is that it can do both HDR and AA at the same time (although may seem useful, without crossfire or an X1900XTX the fps will be quite low). Other than that there is nothing else between them.
