Hey, I have an 8400M GT and I'm not completely satisfied with the overall performance of the card when it comes to games. I've seen a Dell laptop with an GeForce™ Go 7950 GTX and I've been looking in to that card and it seems to be high end for a laptop. Is it worth the switch as my Laptop is still under warranty (costco rules XD). Btw I know that the GeForce™ Go 7950 GTX isn't DX10.

If gaming is that important...go for it :) The 7950GTX is about the same as the 8700GT.

Definitely worth it. The Geforce 8400M GT doesn't stand a chance against the Geforce Go 7950 GTX. The 7950's even more powerful than a 8600M GT, so unless you have an option to get a 8800 series, the 7950 is way more powerful. Plus doesn't matter if the 8400 supports DirectX 10 when it's too weak to make use of it.

If you can get the 8700M GT for the same price I suggest it though. It's been in shader intensive games

The 7950 beats the 8700 in performance, but if your looking for DX 10 you won't find it on the 7950.

The 7950GTX is the strongest gpu in the 7th series. That says it all.
    I`m getting about 5500 3dmark06 , whereas the 8400 is getting what, 2000? :D
Maybe naysayers will say 3dmark says BS, but the fact remains that the 7950GTX totally destroyes the 8400, be it GT or GS.
