It doesn't really seem like much of a service, so uninstalling it shouldn't be much of a loss.

GeForce NOW Open for All
Waitlist removed, memberships now available for everyone.
February 4, 2020 by PHIL EISLER
https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2020/02/04/geforce-now-pc-gaming/
"Today we’re making GeForce NOW — and PC gaming — accessible to more gamers.
More than 1.2 billion players have made the PC the world’s largest gaming platform, yet only a fraction have a modern PC with the power to play their favorite games.
GeForce NOW lets you use the cloud to join in. It’s the power to play PC games anywhere, on any device — even the billion devices that aren’t game ready. You’re upgrading to a state-of-the-art gaming rig by virtually adding a GeForce graphics card to your PC, Mac, SHIELD or Android phone.
Just like the PC, GeForce NOW is an open platform. It’s powered by our world-class GPU architecture and uses our Game Ready Drivers for the best performance. And, because these are real PC games, GeForce NOW gives you the precision of keyboard and mouse gaming, as well as optimizations for game controllers.
It’s an opportunity for you to connect to the millions of gamers online and join your friends in your favorite PC communities. Most importantly, it instantly connects you to the games you already own on the digital game stores you own them on, or the latest free-to-play game everyone is playing.
Your games, your devices, GeForce power.
Game ON
Funny thing about gamers. They have games. Lots of them. Our GeForce NOW beta members have large libraries. Often 50 games or more. You shouldn’t have to leave them behind.
That’s why we’re working with existing PC game stores and publishers. With GeForce NOW, you can keep playing the games you already own and continue building libraries from the same stores you already use every day. That’s what it means to be an open platform.
If you buy it, you own it. If you already own it, play it. Your purchases are always yours.
GeForce NOW is the only cloud gaming service with access to a wide range of free-to-play games, more than 30 and growing. In total, there are hundreds of games from more than 50 publishers that, once you own, are available for instant play. All these games are patched automatically in the cloud, so your library is always game ready.
While we continue to grow the library of instantly accessible games, there are also more than 1,000 games that can be played through single-session installs.
Games get added to the service weekly based on member requests, game popularity and publishers’ input. If you don’t see a game that you want to play, let us and the publisher know.
Play ON
GeForce NOW takes PC gaming and 60+ FPS action where it’s never been before. Underpowered? No problem. Incompatible? No problem.
Your old laptop never gamed like this before. That Mac, which for years has seen fewer games published for it or lost compatibility, can now play the latest games. Your rig doesn’t have to move from room to room to game on the largest screen in your house — your TV. And most recently, PC games go with you on the screen you take everywhere: your Android phone.
And later this year we’ll add Chromebooks, giving members yet another screen to play on.
ON for Everyone
Over 300,000 beta testers have streamed more than 70 million hours of gameplay in 30 countries throughout North America and Europe. GeForce NOW is better because of every second that’s been played. During the beta, over 80 percent of members instantly upgraded from systems without GeForce GPUs to the latest PC graphics.
We’ve reached a point in our journey where we’re ready to remove the waitlist, exit beta and open GeForce NOW up to even more gamers. Members will have the option of a free or premium experience.
The free membership provides one-hour sessions with standard access to GeForce NOW servers. There’s no limit to the number of sessions you can play. All GeForce NOW beta members automatically have had their beta accounts converted to this free plan. Simply sign in and continue gaming.
Gamers can also upgrade to a no-wait, longer session-length premium experience. These members will enjoy priority access to GeForce NOW servers ahead of free members and extended session lengths of up to six hours. They’ll also have exclusive access to RTX content on GeForce NOW.
For a limited time, we’re offering the premium experience as a Founders membership. The first three months are free, followed by a discounted rate of $4.99 a month for all of 2020. This special offer is part of our commitment to working with the community that continues to help us improve GeForce NOW.
Both memberships will work across any supported device that you already own. No additional hardware needed.
RTX ON
We’ll continue to launch new features, including today’s introduction of ray tracing. The holy grail of gaming graphics, ray tracing simulates the physical behavior of light to bring real-time, cinematic-quality rendering to even the most visually intense games. Founders members will have instant access to RTX games.
GeForce NOW continues to evolve and we’re working every day to improve your service.
Because of You, GeForce NOW is ON
We couldn’t — and wouldn’t — be here without the beta members who have helped guide us on our journey. From Mac to PC to SHIELD and then to mobile, every ounce of feedback has left an impression on GeForce NOW. Thank you.
And to everyone who wants the power of PC gaming that 200 million GeForce gamers already know and love, welcome to GeForce NOW. More power, more people — game on."

GeForce Now tested with a GPU and Internet connection below the recommended minimums. Not a bad result. Even if the resolution is way low, stuff is at least playable.

Activision Blizzard pulls out of Geforce Now:
Activision Blizzard games on GeForce NOW
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc...852/activision-blizzard-games-on-geforce-now/
"Cory@NVIDIA 16h - As we take GeForce NOW to the next step in its evolution, we’ve worked with publishers to onboard a robust catalog of your PC games.
This means continually adding new games, and on occasion, having to remove games – similar to other digital service providers.
Per their request, please be advised Activision Blizzard games will be removed from the service. While unfortunate, we hope to work together with Activision Blizzard to reenable these games and more in the future.
In addition to the hundreds of games currently supported, we have over 1,500 games that developers have asked to be on-boarded to the service. Look for weekly updates as to new games we are adding."
Here's why:
Activision Blizzard and Google sign esports, cloud deals
Overwatch League and others will air exclusively on YouTube and Google Cloud becomes preferred cloud service for game hosting
https://www.gamesindustry.biz/artic...nd-google-sign-multi-year-esports-cloud-deals
"Activision Blizzard and Google today announced a multi-year strategic partnership covering esports broadcasts and cloud services.
Under the agreement, Google-owned YouTube will be the worldwide exclusive streaming provider (outside China) for live coverage of the publisher's entire range of esports competitions.
That includes the inaugural Call of Duty League, which begins today, and the third season of Overwatch League, which starts February 8. It also covers Hearthstone and World of Warcraft esports competitions.
As for the other part of the agreement, Google Cloud will be Activision Blizzard's preferred cloud services provider.
"We've worked closely with Activision Blizzard for the past few years across mobile titles to boost its analytics capabilities and overall player experience," said Google Cloud head of gaming Sunil Rayan. "We are excited to now expand our relationship and help power one of the largest and most renowned game developers in the world."
The deal may be seen as a blow to Amazon on both fronts. Amazon owns Twitch, the streaming video service that previously held exclusive third-party broadcast rights for an assortment of Blizzard esports competitions, including the first two seasons of Overwatch League. Activision Blizzard has also worked closely with Amazon Web Services in the past for its cloud services, even presenting at the AWS re:Invent 2018 conference about that partnership.
Responding to the news, CEO of streaming production platform and tracking firm StreamElements Doron Nir suggested the deal could be a more effective approach to exclusivity in the streaming space than securing deals with high-profile influencers like Ninja or Shroud.
"A lot of the focus in the livestreaming wars has been on the individual content creators being signed given that they make up the majority of the content in the space," Nir said. "However, esports events are often responsible for the biggest audiences with the two most watched channels on Twitch in 2019 being Riot Games and Overwatch League.
This makes YouTube Gaming's announcement of three notable leagues a significant move in terms of building their content portfolio and showcasing their commitment to the market."
Activision Blizzard pulls all games from GeForce Now a week after launch
Nvidia hopes to work with publisher on bringing its titles back to streaming service's catalogue

when I was with telus i had internet 100 and Was getting major pixelation with geforce now beta... NOw I have internet 600 with shaw and the pixalation and lag are completely gone..with stadia internet speed made no difference... was laggy no matter what I did. Geforce now as it stands is the king of streaming and is free. I'm not sure what nvidia is thinking in buying millions of dollars worth of hardware then offering the service for free without ads but i'm sure once it becomes better they will bump up the premium price to 9.99 and free willl remain but be more limited, I think what they are trying to do is get it out there to as many people as possible poor-rich...
-
The Free service is only for 1 hour a day, and even the Founders is limited to 6 hours per day?
I should probably give it a go again and see how it performs.
Too many things to do. -
Yeah you get 1 hour, but you can just log back in once the hour is up....minor annoyance but basically unlimited 1080p for free...not sure why people are complaining.

Kinda makes you want GFN to not be quite so successful so there's a short wait queue. -
so far it's the coolest thing this century ok maybe im exagerating but its pretty neat and has improved since the beta that I used for a year

Ok so I sold my mx150 laptop. I bought a 100cad oled samsung 9.7 tab s2 let and installed getting force now with no expectations. I was thinking this is pretty neat let's see how this goes pc ultra settings gaming on a crappy tablet. So I booted up project cars 2 and it looked sharp with almost no lag I came in last place. Next race I came in second and I think that says a lot for such a twitchy racing game.
Next I booted up wildlands and man did it look pixelated at first but after 2 minutes of buffering it started to look like it was run natively on a oled laptop.
This realĺy is neat.. do I still think it's the future?no it is not because of the simple fact all games in the future will be photorealistic an the hardware to ru those said games will be so sma'll they could put them on a watch or in ar glasses.?.so even when WiFi 10 comes out you will still have the lag as data aka light can only move so fast...so running the game natively on a chip smaller than a hair is the future...that is the true future.. So I'm not sure why all the major ceos and companies can't look past the fact when it's finally a great experience chips will make streaming obsolete..

Rent a Cloud PC, with your own account under your own control. Install Steam, Battlenet, etc with your own games, and the Cloud PC Service includes - tada - remote game play for games host on / install in your own personal Cloud PC.
Kind of a combination of Stadia + GFN + RackSpace -

I saw someone ask a question about whether it would be possible for digital marketplaces to offer a small optional fee for cloud streaming. For example, you pay $60 for the usual license, but then an extra $5 that would go straight to the publisher to allow access via GeForce Now.
In either case, XCloud just got a lot more interesting. While publishers might be able to push NVIDIA around, I wonder if they're going to pull the same BS with Microsoft.hmscott likes this. -

Instead of using NVIDIA's godawful search to see what games are supported by GFN, go here: https://gfnlist.com/

Nvidia used to have an actual list you could scroll through and see what was available, now that's gone because they said they couldn't keep up with the updates. I don't see how the other method is any different except it's not quite so visible how many games have gone and how few are left.
Nvidia responded to the user complaints about games disappearing:
Cory@NVIDIA
"Hi everyone, I want to take a moment to answer some questions we’ve received about game availability on GeForce NOW.
1) Why do you remove games from GeForce NOW? Do you have to?
Games on GeForce NOW can come down temporarily while we perform maintenance, or indefinitely at a partner’s request.
Some publishers may choose to remove games before the Founders trial period ends. Ultimately, they maintain control over their content and decide whether the game you purchase includes the ability to stream it on GeForce NOW.
2) Are more games going to be removed? Will they ever come back?
Similar to other digital service providers, some games may go. As Founders’ 90-day trials start coming to an end, game removals should be few and far between.
We can’t say which ones just yet, but we do anticipate some games that have come down will return to the service. And new games will be added to GeForce NOW each week. Stay tuned for announcements.
3) You’re not going to have any games left!
I mean, first off, that’s not a question.
Countless developers and publishers are running with the opportunity to expand the number of gamers who can play their games by using GeForce NOW. We have hundreds of thousands of members playing their favorite games on GeForce NOW. We support the top free-to-play games like Fortnite, League of Legends, Warframe, and more. We just announced Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on GeForce NOW the day it’s released, with ray tracing enabled. And there are plenty more that we’re working to onboard as quickly as possible, including new additions next week.
4) What can I do to help bring games back to GeForce NOW?
Honestly, you can let the world know. Share how excited you are about GeForce NOW on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Imgur, etc. Talk about the games you want to play because, now that you have GeForce NOW, you’ll have the power to play them.
But do so respectfully. There’s no malice here. Put down your pitchforks, because anger and toxicity only make things worse.
Thanks!"

And that's why as it sits now GFN's gaming model won't work long term as there is no stability in the game offerings. At any time a publisher can pull the games.
Nvidia's should have come up with a solution before they went public with their service. I'm surprised after all those years that wasn't worked out before release.
It's not clear what will work long term, perhaps game stores can offer the service from Stadia or GFN or Microsoft as an added service fee that gets shared with the publishers?
Just getting it working technically as Stadia and GFN are doing is really enough for now, to get the technology perfected to offer as a service. It's new and cutting edge, it's a problem to solve unto itself.
It will be interesting to see how Nvidia solves this game sourcing problem for their service.
The same days as that note above:

I DONT care about opinions I care about facts: here is a pic of me playing project cars the most demannding game geforce has as I have settings maxed and im playing at 1080p on a 1080p display notice how sharp it is and how there is no artifacting or pixelation or lag or anything wrong with it, this is not stadia folks
https://imgur.com/gPCH2IC
and
witcher 3 maxed out 60fps
https://imgur.com/dhejC17
no degradation in image quality even with a still picture
edit I always try to be on the bleeding edge of tech and realized early this was the future so I traded my gaming laptops for a 2 in 1 ultrabook yoga 920 rebranded and am happy with the results. crysis 2 and 3 run fine with the igpu and games that are not on geforce now can be downloaded and played, im not saying its the best im saying that I can game on my couch unconnected for 10 hours with max settings and no lag or image degradation.Last edited: Mar 19, 2020 -

edit. isn't it obvious the car was moving in that picture, and you got two likes for not even checking the picture before discussing the iq
like one picture was obviously still, and one moving....no compression artifacts, so in some cases your statement may be false. nothing is absolute.Last edited: Mar 19, 2020 -

oh crap yeah I had a few beer, didn't even notice I typed still shot lol funny......yeah a moving still funny
sorry yeah its just two pictures taken with fraps 1080p 50mib/s 60fps maxed just shows what it generally looks like..
im done for the night need to sleep -
Even with some artifacts, being able to play a game on a simple ultrabook is pretty enticing. I don't think anyone is sitting here thinking it's going to be as good as having a decent dedicated GPU, but for what it is.. sounds good to me.
I may try one of them just to see how it goes. Probably right now with world events what they are causing internet bandwidth to be a little strained is not the best time. -
yeah like my expectations are pretty low after trying on live...but im impressed by it and people should really check it out to see how it looks and plays instead of judging a product they have not tried...
-
I didn't remember that you had to login to Steam in order to play a game, and then I also remembered why I got annoyed by it when I couldn't paste my ridiculous password into it from my password manager. Hard close, I'll try it when they figure out how to transfer the clipboard.

its really impressive tbh
Ok so geforce now maxes games at 1080p, but image quality is really looking like 720p or 900p with a tiny bit of input lag, but still.....it lets you play games that were otherwise impossible to play even at 800x600...and the experience isn't half bad -

Your post reminded me of geforcenow so I just installed it and booted up the witcher 3 for a minute and I hate to always be promoting it when everyone else is like meh but it looks really good I mean really good. lag has improved since I tried it 6 months ago and image quality is up. If you only have an ultrabook then I guess this is the best way to get your game on.
as for power I tested out ghost wl and with geforce now i got 50fps average with benchmark and with my 1060 i got 36fos average so I guess its a pointless service if you have a gtx 1070 or betterLast edited: Jun 22, 2020 -
Yeah, I have it installed on my laptop now (X1C6). I somewhat gave up on the eGPU for ease of use (I still use it - Lenovo Thunderbolt Graphics dock with its integrated BGA GTX1050).
It doesn't have every game I wanted to play, but for some games such as Destiny 2 - where I'm not interested enough to install keep an 80GB+ game installed and updated, streaming it has been pretty nice. I probably wouldn't play a competitive shooter FPS or a faster RTS on this, though I'd have to try it out first.
I think that's the primary draw - trying it out first. I don't have to install anywhere from 20GB to 100GB+++ just to play one game. I also don't have to dump out a lot of heat in the middle of summer
I still like local gaming a bit better, w.r.t. performance and some other considerations (local "ownership" of the files, for some launchers - GOG).
I may be a bit more biased against local gaming recently, if only because my current GPU has the worst blower implementation I've heard. Inconsistently loud and raucous, to the point where I cannot hear my friends, even with headphones on! It will just ramp up to 4000RPM+++ at will, even with a custom fan curve (of which, the max I can set is ~2600RPM - so this is some firmware level nonsense that I cannot touch). I'm half tempted to go watercooling (GPU-only) next gen, if I stick with ATX. If not, it will be my first real foray into non-blower cards.saturnotaku likes this. -
yeah I will not be playing halo 5 competively with geforce now....lag is present but for games like witcher 3 ect some racing its a nice experience

yeah that was one thing i liked when I was using the beta... I could play like 40 games and not have more than 100mb of games installed on my local drive. witcher is what 50gb and when your ultrabook has a 256gb ssd it's not exactly a fair proposistion.
I have had this 1060 laptop for like 12 days and i can return it....so i called and I can swap it out with cash for a 2070 gp leopard pro laptop but as of now i dont think i will...1060 is more than enough for the million older games i own and have not played and with newer games geforce now is good enough now to bypass the whole heavy and thick laptopLast edited by a moderator: Jun 26, 2020 -

-
so after a little testing it seems alot snappier vs a few months back...but the graphics and resolution look 900p this is confirmed it does not look 1080p and although the difference is minor its noticeable to the trained eye...if you want to game at 4k this is not for you....however if all you have is an old laptop or an ultrabook this is a slick option
