I have just bought a brand new laptop. In my country there are no 7800/7900 GPUs available so I decided to buy 7600 but since they are extremely expensive I bought SAMSUNG R55 (Intel T2300, 1Gb 667Mhz, 80Gb UATA 5400rpm, GeForceGo 7600). I thought that everything was great but... suddenly it appeared that my dear 7600 had only 64-bit memory width and DDR2 instead of GDDR3 (core - 400Mhz, memory- 266 (533 effective).
And thus, while the others have 2000 in 3dmark06 I have only 1141 - 1200 (like GeForce go 7400).
I think that one memory bus channel was blocked. PLEASE help. How can I check if I can unblock it and learn everything about the graphic card. Write [email protected]
    Thanks

Do you have a link to the laptop? The memory clock is very low on that.

Yikes, thats really low 3dmark05 score for a 7600. Should be between 3400-4200. Does the manufacturer have the option of putting cheaper memory on the video board?

It says there is 256MB of dedicated VRAM on the specification page, but nothing about type, etc. What program did you use to find out what your clockspeeds were?

Ever thought it might be a 7400?

Check by going to start - settings - control panel - display - (tab) settings

For example on my comp it says: Plug and play monitor on Nvidia Geforce 6800 series GPU.

You know it is still 7600. I checked it by RivaTuner and Everest (the latter is the best programme). It has 8 pixel processors, 5 vertex processors as it should. I tried everything. The memory clock is not the worst - I read that sometimes it is even 350 Mhz. But why the performance is that low is unclear to me.
The results are in 3dmark06 (unfortunately I haven't got the 3dmark05) and they are twice lower (1214 (driver pack 84.xx), than 1141(with extreme force drivers 91.xx)).
How do you think may it all be because of the memory bus? Personally I think that yes.
