Watch that link for a countdown to the exclusive debut of the first Gears of War 2 gameplay video, which is rumored to be over 30 minutes long. I can't wait for the PC port of GoW 2, it's going to be awesome!

Ok, that gameplay was pretty freakin awesome. Looks like they've already updated the engine to support many many more locust in a single area.

I enjoyed most of the first Gears (the first 2/3 were awesome). It looks like this will be more of the same with some really cool new environments (and that is a good thing).

 

Yeah there was a tech demo a few months ago about the updated unreal engine 3, with alot of new features including the ability to have hordes of enemies on screen at once.

 

Looks great, a new enemy would have been nice, I think the Locusts are very dull and boring, same enemy sucks.

I'm not sure it would've made very much sense to add a new enemy, unless they wanted to completely butcher the story continuity.

Nice, I must admit I wasn't quite as excited for Gears 1 when it was release but since then I'm actually looking forward to this one.

 

no PC version = who cares?

 

I don't have a 360, so I care.

 

Shame. Lots of gamers who bought the PC version for the 1st iteration were annoyed with the poor port conversion. If they do plan a PC version hopefully they do a better job with the conversion this time round.

 

erm dmacfour ... there ISNT going to be a PC version, only x360, which sucks cause i wanna know what happens after GOW 1..

 

There will be a PC version (even if they say otherwise), but it will probably be awhile before we see it, just like it took awhile for Gears 1 to show up on PC.

Microsoft is always interested in using PC Gamers as a second wind for game sales.

 

well till 2009 (when it maybe drop to PC) then all of our currunt hardware will be unable to play it

I dont know, the environments were MUCH bigger, it had WAY more enemies and things going on, and lighting was definitely a notch above. But otherwise, the graphics were okay

But yeah, Gears 1 had ugly spots, the second and fifth level were pretty ugly to look at, maybe its just one of those levels were detail was sacrificed for size.

What do you mean, 'nuff said ? - Although the textures, shading, and lighting used in the series are all of a similar nature, just like the .gif you pasted into your post, that's not neccesarily a bad thing. They've found a formula that works, and are sticking to it.

 

Oh heck, I meant the .gif as a good thing. I LOVED Cube of Meat 1.

It looks like our Cliffy's been spending all his time down at the Gym. Probably explains why they haven't sorted Gears for Windows out properly yet !
