    hello ppl i just installed the gears of war on vista ultimate 32 bit and when i try to lucnch the game i get this error

    C:/program files/microsoftgames/gears of war/binnaries/wargame-g4wlive.exe:
    you cannot run the game with modified executable code. olease reinstall the game.

    what should i do?

    plz help

    I googled the error, and found this thread. Gears of War exe?

    From what I've read, you may have to get an update, or try setting your computer date back a year.

    Yes that's the easiest fix for the GOW problem. It's just another vista related issue from what I understand.

    There is no patch that fixes the issue? This "fix" is certainly inconvenient and strange.

    The latest patch fixes it, it's related to an expired certificate.

    no its actually not a vista only problem. it is a problem in xp as well. it is caused by the license certificate expires after january 2009 so Epic had to release a patch to change the date the certificate expires to a much later date. this was big news in early february
