You guys keep throwing all these GPU names around and talking about how bad they are if they're getting 3dmark05 in the 1000s. So, to make you all feel better, I will give you a taste of what I am currently running (to be replaced this winter):

    Dell Latitude C640
2.0 GHz P-4m (the highest option at the time)
    512 MB RAM
30 GB HDD (not sure what speed)
32 MB ATI Mobility Radeon 7500

I don't even meet the system requirements to run NFS Undergound 2. This thing has served its purpose for me for a while now, and my recent upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows XP Pro is allowing me to keep it around until Christmas when I'm getting a new one. See how far we've come in the past 4 years? :D

You should figure out what your 3Dmark05 is....I have an ATI x300 and I look at some people scores and they are three times as much as mine on default clocks, lol! :)

I'm on an old dell Inspiron 4150 so I know your pain (it has the same GPU, except the model I have is the 16mb version instead..)

lmark, he can't even run 3Dmark05, it requires a direct x9 GPU, mobility 7500 is only a direct x7 card. =/

Yeah, I was just gonna say. I've heard you should have at least a 128 MB card to run 3dmark05. But if I had to guess what my score would be... 2? lol

same with me. I have a GPU that is as equally old. It can handle old games perfectly well. When running Halo at the MAXIMUM settings, it easily manages 20fps.

Oh yeah. I run Halo at no problem. Only some occasional chugging and some lag during online play. But that's usually when I'm at home on the good ol' DSL. When I'm at school on T1, it's usually pretty good.

I have two old systems right now still running. One is a 32mb and the other is 64mb both nvidia 440 go cards. Both are direct x9 also.

You can't run 3DMark03 or 05/06 on the MR7500 - it is only DirectX 7 hardware, meaning it has no hardware pixel shader support. The only benchmark you'll be able to run on that is 3DMark2001.
For comparison, the GeForce 4MX (440 Go) has about the same performance as the MR7500.

Yeah, I dl and ran 3dmark2001, just to see what I would get. First run through it was like 3600 and some change. I later on downloaded ATI Tools and ran it again with a little overclocking and got up to like 4600 and some change, but I dropped it back since I don't have any games that really need it. Just FYI. I'll be getting a new computer this winter anyway, so...

If we are comparing 3DMark'01 I get about 17,000+. I can't imageine what the 7900GTX would get... :)

Argh...yeah, as you can probably guess from my specs below I can't run 3dMark2005 either. My 8500 was a beast at the time I ordered it, and it's served me well like a champ for the last 3 years, but let's just say that I'm looking forward to the day when I can place my M1210 order.
