I was wondering if my integered card thats worse then a Geforce 1 could play CS:S?

    my specs are:

    (windows xp)
    P4 2.4Ghz
    SiS 651 video... :(
    512mb RAM
    80GB hdd

Edit: also how well would CS:S run without T&L?

That system will not run CS:S, period. I once attempted to run it on an S3 Unichrome, which I'd wager is slightly superior to your GPU, coupled with a faster processor (Mobile Sempron 2800+), and the reults were not pretty: 9.5fps from the stress test at minimum detail, in DX7 mode at 640x480. By any and all definitions, that is totally unplayable. A friend of mine tried to run it at those same settings on his SiS Something-or-other, and even with 768MB of DDR400 and a Sempron 3000+, he got an average of 8.4 on the stress test, but there was also horrible artifacting that would have rendered the game unplayable even if the framerate had been passable.

The bottom line: Stick to CS 1.6 or CZ, which might run well enough to play - if you're lucky.

    how would a:

    Penitum-D (915 and up)/Athlon 64 X2 (4200 and up)/C2D (e6400)
    1 GB RAM
    Geforce 7300
    150Gb 7200 RPM

hmm I would go with a Radeon x1950 pro, as that offers pwnage for the buck.
Also the geforce 7600gt is a really nice card, and it is affordable.
If you go with a geforce 7300GT you will not have any problems playing cs:s, but it will be worth it to spend like 50$ extra to get the x1950pro.
    But I wouldn't buy a Pentium D if I was you.
Go with a core 2 duo, for sure.
    1GB ram should be sufficient.

If you just wanna play cs:s that system is good.
But if you wanna spend a bit more cash, and get a really nice rig, get a core2 duo (I think e6400 sounds fine) 2GB ddr2 ram 667mhz and a Radeon 1950 pro.
That shouldn't cost you a lot more money, but it gives you a really nice rig which flyes through ALL games at high settings.
150GB 7200RPM sounds perfect, many people go with 500GB and stuff, but you are NEVER getting it used. (Of couse I don't know your needs, but that's MY experience)

The geforce 2 will run CS Source. I played Day of Defeat Source on a 32mb Geforce 2 MX (not even as good as a fully fledged Geforce 2) and it ran on Dx7 mode, on low settings and resolution, at 25-40 fps.

My GF2 MX coupled with an AMD on my old desktop couldn't run anything. 'Course I didn't know much about drivers back then.

I think the e6400 is better, but I'm not sure. As for CS:S, I don't know how my card compares to yours, but at absolute minimum settings I can get playable 25fps on my GMA855 (Intel Extreme Graphics 2). I get more of course on 1.6 and CZ.
