So how is it on your 680M and K4000M?

-
-

Nice, it's been a great few weeks for drivers. First 12.11 and now this
-
Except for the Enduro issue, both the 12.11 and this update look pretty ordinary. Stuff that either got overlooked or was overlooked to meet deadlines.
For those that do not notice anything lagging at 40fps, there's no benefit. Games that were under 40, stay under 40 and those that were over, well, these guys don't see any difference between 40 and 60 anwyays.
For those that HAVE to game at 60fps, again, there's no difference. Games below 60 barely see an increase. Games above 60, well, who cares if it goes from 70 to 1000? Not to mention these are for the GTX680. The 660, which is a bit inferior to the stock 680m, it is the same story (there's a similar bar graph on that first linked website). In that interactive slider thing they have going on at the bottom of that page, I can barely notice a difference. And when I'm trying to prevent that Husk from reaching me so it can engage me in melee or while I'm trying to run as far away from that Banshee and escape its line of sight, I'm not going to have time to admire a subtle smoothness in the curve of that arm rest on the seat or the leaves of that tree which, I could barely make out after moving the slider across several times. I'm not getting at nv here. Both camps are releasing updates that are nothing but marketing gimmicks. The best thing AMD did was that Enduro fix, which is still in beta and which should not have had to be "fixed" to begin with.
What IS amazing is how well the 680m can overclock. Or how they could get that desktop 670 into a mobile form factor (those of us in the VLSI area can truly appreciate stuff like that), What is amazing is that GCN was a pretty big jump over the 6000m series. THOSE are things to be really amazed about. These "updates" are simply routine and nothing to be holy crapped about. Just IMO. Just saying. -
Hmm, have they fixed BF3 crashes with this?
306.97 WHQL is rock stable with BF3, but I also want to try newer versions -

New drivers always up mess fps in Battlefield with 580m SLI for me .
Lets see how this one goes. -
i feel this new driver is giving me utilization issues. older drivers are always constant at 99% utilization, now it fluctuates between 90~99
-
-
Played BF3 for an hour no crash or freeze yet but could feel that 302.77 runs it smoother somehow... There's still hickups with the 310.54 but a lot less than 306.97.
-
Well I am just amazed. BF3 frames went up from 55-70 ish to 80-100 ish on grand bazaar. I know it depends alot on which map is played but still its an awesome update
edit: 3dmark11 score went down to 7200 so 200 points less.... also overclocking to 980 core seems to cause horrible utilization issues and thus worse performance than 915mhz stock(I use a modded vbios)
also utilization in general seems to have gone down but also the temps, and that significantly ... Im not so sure anymore about this driver... will test damavand peak now....
edit2: I am no longer impressed, close quarters was like enduro all over again, fps was all over the place ranging from 40-120!! I cant imagine what big maps will be like
I will now revert back to 304.97 and continue with my life from there
I recommend that anyone who plays bf3 should stay on the latest whql, I dont know where nvidia has got that 16% (or so) increase in bf3... -
I think this update doubled up the idle clocks on my rig. Not sure though. Will try reinstalling an older one first.
-
this driver certainly helped blops 2
was running latest whql and game would freeze in lobby and not able to play for first day of release.
loaded beta and runs fine now.
ive not tried it with b3 yet but hoping it might have sorted out the crashes in almost every game i had. -
this driver has been an incredible performance boost in chivalry: medieval warfare, dota 2, smite, natural selection, and bf3. i am running a 650m in a samsung series 7 17.3. My clocks are 980 and 1400. ive never seen a set of drivers boost performance in such a way. my 650m is actually quite the gaming gpu with these drivers and a 660M+ overclock (runs stable @77c on load). you all need to download these drivers.
