Looks like overclocking has been removed in this driver version as well, can anyone confirm?
-
i'm curious if it blocks overclocking for 900M cards on clevos, MSIs, and ASUS laptops?
-
Aside from intel who likes to gimp their mobile processor's, Nvidia seems to be following the bandwagon..After 344.80 the drivers are oc disabled.... I think it's time for afterburner, nvtuner etc to re-calibrate their program dto function properly on these drivers.
-
i am fine with running at stock provided i can get a consistent performance at stock.
-
Good luck with that one because overclocking works on desktop Maxwell cards just fine. If you try to contact the devs of Afterburner or Precision, they'll just throw you the official company line that mobile GPUs aren't supported by their program. And the developer of Inspector is a recluse, you'll never get in touch with him.
-
True, there is that precedent, which gives hope. Nvidia is more invested in making MFAA work with SLI since this is their tech which can be a selling point for new GPUs. Unlike Crytek, who has no personal stake in making SMAA T2x compatible with multi-GPU (and probably couldn't even if they tried since they're a game company not IHV).
Regardless of SLI, you're still gonna need Maxwell 2 though. -
Indeed. If maxwell OCing remains locked forever, this is just going to be a hell of a sick joke. The more I see of new hardware the more sick I feel. I don't even think AMD cares about the whole deal anymore either. They just announced a new line of GPUs for entry level gaming. It's like... 2GB vRAM, 128-bit mem bus, R9 270(X) replacements. I don't even understand what is going through their heads right now.
-
I think you're talking about Nvidia who came out with the 2GB 128-bit 960 today that's slower than the outgoing 760 at the same price. AMD didn't release anything new, they're not going to until Q2.
Buddy I think you need some sleep LOL. -
Yeah I misread the 128-bit thing from nVidia, but I did mean "announced" and was talking about this: AMD readies ‘Trinidad’ graphics processing unit | KitGuru
Side note: Look, my country is now a red team GPU -
AMD is ticking off all the islands with their GPU codenames, yours was gonna get picked sooner or later.
-
I think this is the reason why NVidia engineers disabled the oc feature of their 347.xx drivers
http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/769854-check-whether-your-card-can-use-all-its-vram.html#post9901967
even though this is a desktop 970 card. could this happen also to 970m cards? -
Since OCing is enabled on desktop cards as far as I know, that should have nothing to do with this. But yes, I've seen that bug, and it doesn't happen with ALL 970 desktop cards. But if this is actually true, nVidia really screwed up. So far however, since it appears to be on only SOME chips, and the fact that nVidia took quite a while to release a "reference" 970 card... I blame the manufacturers.

I actually love this driver. It improved gaming performance for AC Unity.

Was that really so hard?

Hard about what?

i heard that it improves far cry 4.Im finally home after exam so im going to test it and will report
Btw there is a video on youtube showing 750ti running on high dying light avarage 39 fps
Sounds like a good port

geforce experience: do you need it installed?

Is this a rhetorical question?

EDIT:
Looks like this one supports GTX 980M and GTX 970M. No inf modding needed.
Another new driver. 347.26.
Too much hassle making a new thread about it.
Seems to add support for Call of Duty Online and GTX 960.
Maybe oveclocking is enabled on this one?

You tried it out yet Cloud? How is it?
The 347.25 is pretty good for gaming for me however it would have been nice to have been able to OC. -
so i don't need to mod the 347.25 drivers to get it to install? can someone else test this?
-
Yup, driver contains entries for 13D7 and 13D8 which is 970M and 980M ID. The driver should reckognize the cards and allow installation.
@Reborn: Nope, havent gotten a chance yet. Maybe tonight

Far cry 4 the performance for me is same so no gains any the only other game i tested is dragon age and the benchmark seems to gain very little but its within the margin of error so i dont consider a half of frame a gain actually.Nvidia hasnt made a good driver almost a year.
-
i hope so cos i still haven't gotten to getting a 980M yet - don't get paid till the end of the month
-
I've just tried the driver and it is pretty much the same as the other 347.25. Not any worse or any better. Still a good gaming performance driver with no OC capabilities.
Also yes no modded INF required to install.
So this driver is worth a shot for peeps wanting to try on their new 970M or 980M GPU system installs.
I'm happy enough to stay on this driver for now until the OC issue is fixed! Doubt Nvidia will remedy it but we can hope in future driver release versions.
It seems like they have their minds made up about the direction they are going now.Cloudfire, Ashtrix, TBoneSan and 1 other person like this. -
Hey Guys.
I have tested out these new drivers and it seems Nvidia has junked them up to make the 980m perform better. I tested this driver with Tomb Raider(2013) and it seems to have the FPS locked in at 60. As anyone else noticed things like this?

overclocking works on 345.09.
-
It stopped working from 347.09. And with 900m series.
-
Don't know what all the fuss is about. Just use 334.91 since they play all the games except dying light and OC too. Ohh and no throttling.
-
Lol yep
-
A moded driver based on leaked Mobile G-Sync driver (for G751) apparently has overclock (and G-Sync, obviously). Hope it will be released officially soon.

There's an entire thread about that here.
-
Oh ok but my post was mainly about overclock so - as it has been discussed here - i posted here.
-
In which case, if you want to OC, you would need to install the original 346.87 using a modded INF and not Gamenab's "modded" driver, in which he simply took the kernel-level display driver (nvlddmkm.sys) from 346.87 and put it into 347.25, which is a bad practice anyway and lucky his modded 347.25 doesn't crash or mess up your PC. And also keep in mind that mobile G-Sync only works on one eDP LG IPS panel, which the ASUS G751 and some SKUs of the MSI GT72 have.
-
Hmm according http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...-temps-benchmark-results!&p=472459#post472459 overclock works with the modded driver. I'll try later to confirm.
-
Right, because copying the nvlddmkm.sys from 346.87 to 347.25 essentially turns it into 346.87. But you shouldn't be doing this anyway, because like I said, there's no benefit, just the possibility of incompatibility and problems, if not now, then in the future. Installing 346.87 using a modded INF does the exact same thing and is safer. The only reason Gamenab put display driver from 346.87 into 347.25 was so that it would install on every system w/o modded INF, since INF of 347.25 includes device ID's of just about every GPU while 346.87 is only for the ASUS.
Anyway, I'll quote this guy who knows his stuff (Orbmu2k creator of Nvidia Inspector):

Oh thanks, that's clearer now, i'll consider the original 346.87 then.
