    Geforce 7600 vs 7700

    Is there really a difference in performance between these to cards? I am stuck between the Asus A8js and the compal HL30.

    Yes the 7700 performs better than the 7600 in alot of benchmarks

    check out the GPU thread, it has link to benchmarks of most mobile GPU's

    both are good, I dont know which one's better, you should post at Which Notebook Should I Buy?
    I'm sure someone who knows about these notebooks will give you their imput.
    You can also look at the reviews of these notebooks and see if there's something you prefer about one or the other

    Are you going to be playing a lot of graphically demanding games though? I agree with bob, post in the wanting to buy subforum... there ar emore people that would better be able to answer and give better advice towards which laptop you should be buying

    I'll be playing BF2 and 2142, call of duty 2, and test drive unlimited, and maybe some of the upcoming games.

    The A8JS will be faster, but some of that is offset by it's higher resolution LCD. I personally like the HGL-30, but that's because it's very Linux compatible. I don't know how well the A8JS fares. I also like how the HGL30's fan vents out the left side of the computer, rather than onto my mouse hand. It's something to think about when you're getting a gaming machine.
