Can someone with a 8600M GT please run the FEAR benchmark and post the exact details they used so I can compare? A screenshot of the settings pages within the actual FEAR demo and a screenshot of the nvidia control panel image settings would probably do the trick.

That's weird. I could with nearly any driver I used in vista, except for some early 90-series drivers (90.xx-94.xx). What drivers are you using?

i use driver version 7.15.11.108 from 4/4/07... like i said it's the version the G1S came with (this driver gives me best results in 3DMark).

... Have you tried the new 158.xx or higher drivers? they have much better performance than the 100.xx series. Stock is recomended for XP, with the 80.xx or 85.xx series (i have 86.04, which is 85.xx series). Stock Vista drivers could be a lower series than the newest (highest) and are not typically recommended as the optimal drivers. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista is the link to the vista 32 bit drivers.

Download the MP demo, not the single player one. Only the Multiplayer has the Performance test.

Yup, but this was for collecting all data in one place for easy comparison. Was even a sticky for a while, but was removed cause no one posted benchmarks (except me).

@Fabarati, and the rest of the people interested in TrackMania.

The benchmark doesn't work correctly, you have to actually go in-game and pick a replay, then bench it. There is no way you would EVER get 168fps with max settings that way. Because i know people with 8800gtx with everything at max who don't get 60fps ;).

I tried the in game benching, and it went slower an more stuttery then when i played. It claimed 14,8 FPS, and the replay was likely that. However, when I played it was WAAAAAY over that. It was smooth when i played. So that do not seem to work properly either

Ehm, with 6fps everything is stuttery from what i could see =), but the replay went 'quite' smooth. BUT, the thing with TrackMania is that the power needed from your pc is very variable, for instance a high jump on a track that has lots of unnecessary stuff in it can kill any computer at high settings =), that could cause your problems.

See, that's the thing, it doesn't stutter at all for me at any time with everything at highest (AA @4x and res 1440x900, both are max for me) and the GPU OC'd, except for when I bench the replay. Then it stutters and is no way like when I play.
