So the Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS I guess is now considered a mainstream part. It has 8 pixel shaders, 8 vertex shaders, a core speed of 400, memory speed of 600, and DirectX 10 support. But having a fairly slow core speed and memory speed makes it slow. Will the new games supporting Direct X10 need faster video cards than the Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS to show off their DirectX 10 architecture? Will there be any Direct X10 games that the 8400M GS will be able to show it's DirectX 10 support in?

Oops I wanted to change the title and refreshed it. So I guess the card is not powerful enough to run DX10 games?

Sure it can run DX10 games, but not with any eye candy on. Probably low settings if even that. I doubt you can run Lost Planet, which of course is badly optimized, some say ;)

So the games will be able to run in DX10 mode but with low shader settings?

kinda like pulling 50 tons of cargo with a 1995 Geo Prism....

trust me, while the 8400M can play current dx9 titles fine, it will struggle playing upcomming DEMANDIND DX10 titles, but that all just depends on the optimization of dx10 and the game right.
