I have an Acer Aspire 5520G with a Nvidia 8600M GS video card.
The latest driver on the Acer website is from 2007.

Tried to download the latest driver (version 186.03) released June 09 / 2009
from Nvidia.com which improved the performance in games a lot but they also
recomended that the drivers from the notebook manufacturer should be used.

The thing is that the Nvidia 186.03 driver crashes the system. So I installed
the drivers from the Acer website which are not exactly updated and it works
just fine except for a lack of performance comparing to the newer driver.
So any suggestions where to find an updated Acer compatible Nvidia driver?

The 186.03 - 32-bit / 64-bit driver you are linking to in your thread seems to be the same as the one from Nvidia. It's not Acer-WHQL =S, it's just the original one from Nvidia.com

It does have a WHQL certificate from Acer though, as well as an INF file (nvac.inf) specifically for Acer models.
Besides, it says "Nvidia Direct" right beside it.

Thnx for all the answers :) Well the latest driver from the Acer website is version 101.38. Atleast its stable but games are really laggy compared to
    the newer driver.

Read in som other forums that there is no specific driver for the 8600M GS.

So TehSuigi could you recomend a stable driver from that list?
