First we need some basic information before we can help.
1. What model is your laptop? So we may determine if it is overheating due to design flaws, or just get a better general idea of what we are troubleshooting.
2. Are you OCing? If so try change it back to stock.
3. Lifting your laptop by an inch using books, pencils, etc. If the extra cooling stop the issue try invest in a cooler. -
its acer aspire 5520G im not overclocking it's a new laptop I bought it 3 months ago its been acting like this for about 3 weeks my brother has the same laptop and has no problems

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
mines do the same thing. i think its all 8600m cards do the same thing

1. make sure you didn't do any configuration changes in both games you play and GeForce control panel.
2.are you playing new games? is this problem comes up with certain games only? because 8xxx series cards are know to have stuttering issues as well...

It happens in all games old and new my brother has same laptop and no problems

That proberly is an unlucky Nvidia bug.. like most of the rest of us suffer from :/
-
theres no way of fixing this ?
-
if your brother has the same laptop and has no issue when playing the same games then this may not be the 8xxx series issue you are experiencing. however, 8xxx series issue is known to exist. waiting for a fix to be released.
anyway, in your case, the best bet would be to understand and isolate the differences between your brother's laptop and yours... it could be the driver versions. -
we have same drivers and I tried all of them and still doesnt work
