Only the G1, G2 and Macbook pro models have 8600GT DDR3 cards. I was wondering how much of a performance improvement these models over similarly equipped DDR2 notebooks with identical processors and specs?

It's about 28% in CS:S at 1680x1050 I believe. There's a thread dedicated to it somewhere. Also, you can find the GDDR3 card in the 15.4" T61p and the 8510w.

Which company produces the T61p and 8510w? I've done a search on the 8600GT thread but I can't find the 3dmark pages for Asus to compare with 3dmark DDR2 scores. Also, any other games used to compare the performance improvement between DDR2 and GDDR3?

It's the Lenovo Thinkpad T61p and the HP Compaq 8510w.

The thread I was referring to is here:

For more gaming comparisons, I suppose you could just request them from anyone with the G1s or MBP who has the game you're thinking about.

Thank you very much for the link! I don't play FPS games so a game like Supreme Commander should run fairly well on a DDR2 card with quite a few settings ramped up and eye candy thrown in. This has also helped answer my other question in the forum for buying notebooks too!
