I just came through this tool. I must say the auto game optimizing tool is really nice. If you don't know what it is, you can see the detail video here.
Tweak your Game Settings Automatically | GeForce Experience | GeForce

You can't download from Nvidia because their beta is full and you need to register for trying it later on. So, get it from here right away:
Download NVIDIA GeForce Experience 1.0.1.0 Beta Free - A new way to keep GeForce drivers up to date and optimize your games - Softpedia

Update: Just tried it in Battlefield 3. With my M18x with 2670qm and 580m SLI, it optimized BF3 low in terrain, texture, low mesh, and other settings at high. I remember my 5870 crossfire would run it in ultra but I did not expected this with my 580m SLI. :(

I don't know about that. At least this program doesn't have anything to do with your actual system drivers.

I only have it installed for driver update notifcations. The settings are persistent through this, but not through Nvidia control panel.
