I recently installed Vista x86 on an old laptop for fun. Surprisingly, everything else worked out rather well except for the graphics driver. I can't find one that's suitable for it. I tried both Laptopvideo2go and Nvidia. The former installed correctly, but I get a rundll crashed on start up. The latter refuses to install, citing incompatible hardware issues. Is there a place where I can actually get a working driver?

I found Forceware 97.35 for Vista on Guru 3D, but it forced me to use 1920*1200 resolution for some reason. I'm used to 1280*800 and looking at the higher res makes me dizzy. Is there a way to change it back to 1280*800 (which is the native res anyhow)

I assume you already tried altering the res by right clicking on your desktop, choosing properties and finding the apropriete tab with the res? You can aslo do this in the Control Panel via the screen option.

Try this first if you haven't done so.

Can only say I'd put my confidence in lv2g drivers. Try a few versions.
