Hi, After reinstalling windows 7 and updated all drivers on my Asus N55SF notebook (conf: Intel core I7, GeForce GT555M 2gb, 4GB ram) every game im trying to play runs great at start but after like 5 minutes, the FPS drops dramatically to around 5-10, and a static-like sound apears in the background just when the lag spikes appears. This is happening to every game i am trying to play, even with the lowest graphic setting, But if i disable the dedicated video card and run only with the integrated card i am not experiencing this difficulties.
i have to mention that i tried to clean reinstall windows 7 the 2nd time , Can u please help me

You've seen that you have the updated drivers?

its either a drivers problem or that your notebook is overheating, that serious had that pesky problem

+1 to overheating ... check your temp. while gaming
-
i've already checked my temp it doesn't exceed 90 C, and the drivers are all well updated, no yellow mark in device manager. I also tried to set the GeForce GT555m as primary device from Nvidia Control Panel but with no effect, im seriously asking myself if it isn't a hardware problem (P.S. i've bought my system 7 months ago, isn't too early to have a hardware failure? and my graphic devices have the optimus technology)

Try using different drivers , what driver are you using now ?
This is the latest driver form NVIDIA : Drivers - GeForce -
atm im using v.321.42 but i've tried using another version 321.24 beta with no improvement

Can you post a screenshot of GPU-Z ? -

get HWinfo64 let it record while you are gaming, both cpu and gpu, it will show you the clocks of both.
its throttling for some reason -
these are the screenshots while playing Dragon Age 2

and with the HWinfo64

The easiest way to check whether a GPU is throttling or not is to run FurMark IMO. Blue text saying it's throttling will appear if it is. I've had that happen once on my current laptop despite the temperature not running high at all. After replacing the drivers the problem was gone.
-
I assume it's throttling due to high temps. 91C is dangerous and I think the GPU is throttling to 2D clocks to protect the laptop.

its throttling due to heat.

I didn't check the pictures before posting. 96°C would have been too hot if you had been stress testing the GPU, but you were only playing a game. I wouldn't count on a laptop cooler alone taking care of the throttling. I would go straight ahead and repaste the CPU and GPU. Has it been long since you've removed dust from the fins?
-
I'd start with the air can before thinking of repasting, removing the dust from heatsinks does wonders.
If cleaning the heatsink fins doesn't do it, the a repaste is likely needed

96 is hell high ... & especially for a max GPU utilization of 29%
Geforce GT555M problem
