Found a deal on a dv6000z laptop with a geforce go 7200 that has 64mb discrete and 192mb turbo, rojakpot's list has the 7300 as 64mb only, dooes he not show the results with turbo cache? If not will the 7200 with turbo on have better results then just a 7300 with 64mb only. Need help clearing up a few things. Tron

No, the 7200 is worse than the 7300 no matter what.

The 7200 is still basically intergrated, while the 7300 actually marks the transition to more decent GPU power, although it itself isnt to great either...

    That's not true.

The 7200 is not an IGP.

    It's just a lower clocked 7300.

Neither the Go7200 nor the Go7300 will take you very far in the latest games, so if that is what you are planning to use this notebook for you are better off looking at a different model. The HP dv6000 t offers a GeForce Go7400.

The amount of video memory on the Go7200/Go7300 does not make much of a difference as neither card is capable of using 128MB effectively. 64MB is fine. The Go7300 will be faster than the Go7200 no matter what.

I meant that its close to the performance of intergrated cards and shouldnt be mistaken as a decent dedicate card.

Definitely. All I'm saying is that should a new game catch your interest, the Go7200 may not be up to playing it smoothly.

wow, thats a great deal if you got that new

the 6600 is many times better then the 7200

the first number represents the generation, the higher of which means that the graphics card and do more special eye candy stuff like SM3 etc...

the second number represents the clock speed which is how fast the video card runs, and as you can see 6>2 thus the 6600 is much better and though the 7200 is newer generation, it can't run any games that does use SM3 very well

(the above works for nvida cards, ati is similar)

good deal that is very cheap even as a barebone

That's a good deal on any laptop, but especially an Asus with a 6600. Hope you enjoy.
