Simply put, I can't find all that much information about either of these cards specifically. I know the Geforce go 6150 was supposed to be "meh" compared to the ATI 1150, but I have no idea how these 2 compare. Does anyone have any idea which would be better? Or if there would even really be a noticable difference between these 2? They (at most) would be used for pre-2005 light gaming (Half life 2, World of Warcraft, etc)

I think the X1270 is better but both will play WoW & Half-Life 2 decently.

Think both would lag behind the x3100? Basically looking for the best integrated solution. But if all are generally equal in power then I'm kool

Yes but, it would be extremely unnoticable.
What OS are you using/going to use?

Vista Home Premium by the looks of it. I realize it's kinda a resource hog, but my friend has a laptop w/ ATI Xpress 1150 graphics, and it ran Aero and "flip 3D navigation" fine. Just was a lil laggy on World of Warcraft. So was curious if the Geforce 7150, X1270, or X3100 would handle WoW a lil better.

All would be able to run it lag free.....even in Vista. Go with whats cheaper.

Thanks for your help man. I see your rig has 1150 graphics as well. No real complaints or qualms on your behalf about it's performance in general? (video playback, light 3d graphics, etc?)

    Your Welcome
Hmm I get good FPS in games like Warcraft 3.
Tried WOW & it works good. 20-35 FPS in both.
Then again I've done alot of performance tweaks also.

Just curious, what kind of "performance tweaks" are you referring to? In game stuff like turning certain details off? Or like other hardware based tweaks?

The X1270 and 7150 should be slightly more powerful than the X3100.

As integrated gpus their effective power is dependant on other components, especially the cpu. To get the best out of these IGPs you should have as powerful cpu as possible and plenty of ram always helps of course.

First off I clean my system good, defragment, & i play around with the catalyst control Panel. Since your using Vista you may benefit from the Vista tweaks thread. But, it is proven that you take a 30% hit on perfromance in Vista so get XP if you can then upgrade later.

I checked out the Vista tweaks, and they seem good. I was curious what kind of tweaks or settings changes did you do in Catalyst that you'd recommend (assuming the x1270 has the same catalyst program options as the 1150)?

A small note - these integrated GPUs are not in the GPU Guide yet due to lack of benchmarks. If anyone comes across information that shows one is faster than the other, message me and I'll add them promptly!

Awesome thanks for the feedback. As long as I can get in some older casual gaming in from time to time (as i primarily game on consoles) and not have laggy and choppy video playback I'm sold!

I may resurface though asking advice on how to tweak in Catalyst or do BIOS stuff or whatever cuz I have no idea what those are!

Actually, the x3100 has more powerful hardware than the x1270 (not sure about the 7150m), so with proper driver support it would be faster (I believe it already is faster in XP, going off of various user comments on these forums).

Chaz, check out this for benchmarks of the 1250/1270, though it's findings on the x3100 aren't valid as they used Vista.

How do you make changes in the BIOS to tell your gpu to use more system memory?
