My girlfriend got hers new DELL XPS M1210 with geforce go 7400 inside, but cant start Sims2 game on it because of some strange error. When you start the game it says that the graficcard is not directx9c compatible. I looked at dxdiag, and directx9c is installed, but when you test direct3d in dxdiag it fails in both directx8 and directx9. I remember i had some similar problem with one old acer with geforce go 5700 but cant remeber how i did solved it. The computor is just out the box.

Very strange... Try updating your videodrivers from your manifacturer. If that doesn't work, go for the laptopvideo2go drivers. Check the "Updating videodrivers thread" for more info.
Maybe you should install the DirectX 9c from Windows and not from the game. If all this doesn't work, reformatting the notebook should help for sure.
Good luck,

Have you tried installing directx 9.0c again, along with new drivers? You could also uninstall directx and reinstall it. Any help just ask.

I did download nvidia 86.02 drivers for but it did not helped. Directx9c was installed from the start on the computor.

Try using the latest LaptopVideo2Go drivers; there's a link in the guide here:

Also, go to Microsoft's website and get DirectX from them. -
Yeah, reinstalling DirectX might be a good idea, just to make sure that's not the problem.

I was suggesting that you uninstall directx and install it again using a directx uninstaller like this http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/DirectX-Eradicator.shtml . It might be a dx issue so un-reinstalling it might help.
Geforce go 7400 and directx9c
