What I have read, this doesn't have one with GDDR3 memory. It has DDR2.

You're probably right. They don't sell Zeptos here but isn't there one Zepto with Gddr3? the benchmarks on that Zepto looks pretty impressive for a DDR2 card tho.

    AFAIK.
    1 Lenovo Y510 T7500, T8300 , this model has the NV86GT with 256gddr3.
2 Macbook pro as you already know.
    3 Dell XPS M1530.
    4 ASUS C90.
    5 Toshiba Qsmio G45 T93.
6 Sony AR790? Sony AR definitely has that NV with GDDR3.
    7 ASUS G1s.

That's all I know , I am sure , there are many more.......

I am not sure if Lenovo sells the Y510 with the NV8600GT in the US though it is available in my area and HK and it is quite cheap for the spec.

the HP has FX570m, doesn't it?

thinkpad T61p does not have the NVIDIA GF8600GT , it also has the FX570m.

Well, the LG does NOT have the GT.

it's got NVIDIA 86GS just like BenQ S41.

And the BenQ has much better spec at much cheaper price if you dont mind Linux.

yeah , it does , and it is a overpriced cheap looking laptop, I dont even get it why there is the LG dedicated forum here ..........such a minor brand should be in other manufactures section IMHO.

BenQ is more popular than LG(in terms of sells) but it's got no its dedicated forum here or any where else so LG should be in the other manufactures section of this forum.

And Zept is a quite minor brand but it's got its own forum here ,so why is there no benq room? I can't get this since BenQ is a quite big brand in terms of world wide sells.

As a cell phone maker , LG is a huge one but as a laptop OEM?

I never seen LG laptops in any where besides this site and some UK sites.

I think LG , Zept and many others are not even available world wide,I am always curious why there is the LG dedicated room here.

At the core of the 8600m GT and the FX 570m in 256mb ddr3 flavor lies the G84 Revision A2 GPU.

    Photo of T61p G84 Revision A2:

With moded drivers the FX 570m can become a 8600m GT.

However it really isn't necessary anymore. With 175.16 drivers the FX-570m in the T61p can game. Can even score over 6000 points in 3DMark06 when tuned correctly.

it is not the same GPU but very similar and the FX570 is based on the GF8600GT but not exactly the same.

however,I think your right ,the main difference between them is the type of driver version ,so with changing the FX driver you can make it perform like the GF86gt.

and generally the FX570 performs a bit better than the GF86Gt , it performs similar to the GF95GS with GDDR2.

and generally, a thinkkpad is a more well blanced laptop than any of so-called gaming rig or whatever.

so you are all right , actually I like yours if I get it around 1500US here(impossible though T series is very expensive here).

It is the same GPU with a different configuration and drivers. That is the only difference.

Check out this mobile GPU list.

    Hmm,
The US Lenovo site lists the Y510 (Ideapad) as being able to configure with an "NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GTS 256MB" I know of a GT and GS model but what is this? Am I a total idiot and missing somethings obvious?

    Link

I am referring to the $899 and up models.

you can configure it with NV8600GT not GTS , it is an obvious typo.

it's been an option for a while in Asia and it's selling well and so Lenovo started the same thing in the states too.

I once bought it with T8300, NV8600GT 256mb gddr3 but was too big for my needs and I sold it to one of my many sisters who play some 3d games .

It's got the best speakers in laptops.

The RAM (with the M1530 you can choose from 2 to 4 gigs) is DDR2.

    VideoRAM (256mb) is DDR3.
