    Generals crashing on the X3100

    I have a HP Compaq 6720 1.6 C2D, 512 mb ram and GMA X3100.

    The problem is that it crashes while playing Command and Conquer Generals and says some about a serious error which may be caused due to a virus or hardware overheating blah blah blah.

    The driver I am using is 6.xx.xx and I am on Windows XP. I could not install the 14.31 driver as it said the driver wasn't meant for this system.

    Any ideas?

    well for one 512mb of ram with a Core 2 Duo doesn't sound right at all.

    Well it doesn't but I am not sure if it is the reason of crashing or there could be something else.

    So you it is the definite reason?

    howcome you cannot install the 143 driver? Maybe you should ask dell about this? I installed 14.3.1 on my macbook just fine
