    Hi,
I purchased HP Pavillion HDX 9003 TX:

Intel Core Duo T7700 2.40 GHz
    RAM 2047
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT

running Windows Vista Home Premium (32bit)

The notebook was replaced due to faulty quickplay (and touch sensitive) buttons at the top of the keyboard. All games worked on the notebook. I generally play Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, Tiger Woods PGA 08 etc and there was never an issue.

The notebook was replaced with a new one of the same model - due to the faulty buttons. Since I received the new laptop none of my games work. Oh well, they commence and between approx. 1 - 10 minutes the screen goes black and I have to hold down the power button to reboot the machine.

I have contacted HP and they will not accept any reponsibility as the PC works and under normal conditions. I cannot get an explanation why the previous notebook ran all games and the replacement laptop continually fails.

    Can somebody help?

I would talk to a new rep, "normal conditions?" If you added the 3d hardware aftermarket, that might hold some water, how is gaming an abnormal activity for a computer? My best guess off hand aside from a driver issue would be overheating, download GPUZ http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz

and click the sensor tab to get an idea of your temps, check the refresh this screen box, then fire up a game, let it run for a few minutes, and before it blanks, hit the windows key and see how high the temp has gone up.

Hi Iceman0124, excuse my ignorance but I've downloaded GPUZ and run it although I don't know what I'm looking for. Can you please give me more information.

Also, I have deleted the display driver, restarted and reinstalled the driver and that hasn't helped at all.

Also, now that I am running GPUZ in the background the game fails whilst going through the team selections. The message displayed is
"Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 stopped working. A problem casued the program to stop working correctly/ Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
