I've tried 257.21, 197.16, 195.62, and 186.81. Some games seem to work fine but have lower fps then others, some games work better on other drivers, and the other games dont, mirrors edge worked on 1 but I completely forgot which one, mirrors edge had huge fps spikes whenever AI came on the screen. Fallout 3 gets fps drops all over the place.

The current one im using is 195.62, and sli seems to make gameplay worse.

nVidia makes great graphics cards, but the driver quality is just terrible. I know there has to be atleast 1 or 2 good drivers out there. So what drivers do people recommend for me? Its not like I haven't bothered looking, because I have. It seems like new, terrible "beta" drivers get released all the time.

Try any of the Microsoft WHQL Notebook Drivers, for example 198.05.

    Omega Drivers?
However, I'm inclined to think that it's not the fault of the drivers... perhaps 2.3million pixels rendered @ highest quality settings is too much for your beast of a laptop :)

    Stay WHQL and be done.

ATI drivers won't even load on the 5870 CF's in the M17x's, so count your blessings.

It says that has no physx software or HD audio included. That means its just not packaged right? Ill still be able to use physx? And is this the best/latest one for me to use?

You can still use Physx and HD audio, you just need to download and install it separately. I am not sure if those are the latest because the Microsoft Driver updates aren't that well known and updates can go unnoticed for a while.

If using 195.62 (current) and just downloading new sli/phsyx drivers is a fix then ill just do that. What are the latest sli/physX drivers?

Well I personally use 197.15 for my XP partition and 197.25 for my Vista 64 partition, bot are really good drivers, 197.15 definitely better in XP. Also do you use Nhancer? You see making your own SLI profiles can really help in performance and using Nhancer it´s really easy. I would recommend that.

People said that Medal of Honor Beta didnt use SLI, that is wrong I got SLI to work right away :)

I definitely recommend Nhancer if you haven´t installed it, it makes creating and modifing SLI profiles so much easier.

Just out of interest, how are Omega drivers nowadays? I used them years ago for my ATI MR X300 but haven't tried them with my 9800M GTS.

Mirror's Edge.... do you have PhysX turned on? That would explain your fps drops.

Ok, it seems like no game so far even has any increase in fps in sli. Sli is supposed to do that. I guess ill give the WHQL a shot.

Since this thread is up, can someone who's tried all the recent drivers tell me which would give best performance?

    I'm currently using 186.82

    Thanks :D

The most positive feedback lately is 197.45 and 195.62. I used the 195.62 until the 197.45 came out, which I prefer. Colors seem more vibrant, temps are cooler, and performance is comparable. Using them on 8800m GTS on Win7/64.

I havent tried all, but most, some that i remember 185.85DOX, 186.81 nvidia official, 186.82 MS update, 197.16 Official nvidia, 197.45 MSupdate, 198.01 MSUpdate, 198.05 MSupdate.

In my case... 186.82 work best for a long time, specially since the Asus GTX260 is very picky card and dont downclock on its own with the official Nvidia releases, but does with all MS update drivers, performance wise most of the MS update were better than official drivers in benchmarks, in games is hard to say, but out of playing beta SC2 i moved on toward newer drivers, and found that 198.05 were scoring the same as 186.82 in benchmarks and it already were displaying cuda, direct computing and opencl, so i kept them, seem to be working good, but i dont think they are much better than 186.82.

If you dont have any problem with 186.82 i would keep them, they are good drivers, unless you are playing newer games or have glitches with current. I'm now waiting for MS update version of the 25X.XX drivers :)

    Thanks for the info
I'll try 197.45, and if I feel its better I'll stay with it, otherwise I'll go back to 186.82 :D :D

Thanks again for the info guys :)

There are some versions out including the desktop which was a Nvidia official release, the netbook version was an MS update, Nvidia Geforce 197.45 notebook drivers released (MS Update Catalog), be sure to read the thread as you will need to do an extra step from installing this drivers.

    Good luck,

Already read up on that thread, and I'll make sure to delete the nv_disp.inf before I start

    Thanks again

195.62 is great, except for SLI problems. Unless theres not a fix for it should I use 197.45?

nVidia should get an idea from this thread that confusion/problem from drivers is getting really annoying.

Thanks for the help so far everyone.

197.45 wont install because it cant find any hardware compatible. It even says on the site. Gtx 200M series isnt listed..

edit: Nevermind. Found out the WHQL ones. Not even those work because I cant delete a certain file..

If I understand correctly, from this and the other thread, you NEED to extract(unzip) the driver package, rather than try to install from the zip file. Then you can go into the driver folder and delete the file.

    Yep
    I also did this
Extract all the files, delete the .inf file, then run setup.exe

Currently installed these, downclocking fine, idle temps about the same
Haven't had a chance to check overclocking stability and load temps yet though
