So who is playing? Besides the nasty performance issues, the game is very fun. It also looks like there is a delay for the official NVidia driver; AMD released theirs yesterday. Come on Nvidia!

I was just wondering if anyone has tried it yet. I can get $10 off at Green Man. Good reviews on Steam.

Haven't played the full game, but I played both betas. I doubt it's any different than the betas, except for the map size.
In short - it's a typical Ubi sandbox. You have a few mission types you will be replaying over and over again, held by a flimsy story line ("the bad guy #26 you brought told us where you can find more intel on bad guy #51, go there and get that intel" and " the intel says you can find more intel at these locations, go there"), and a map full of POIs.
On gameplay front, it has its ups and downs. It can suck you in, especially if you're into a sort of stelthy games (which I am and Wildland did manage to suck me in during closed beta), but then horrible teammate or enemy AI ruins everything. I know it's full potential lies in co-op, but enemy AI still remains dumb. Gunplay is pretty decent and weapon customisation is awesome.
The locations seem to be pretty big and varied, even two beta regions were quite big, but vehicle controls could be better. The open world feels alive, but not so much if you would compare to a bit heavier competition (i.e. GTA). Cars handle very arcadey, and motorcycles were my favourite means of transportations. Air vehicles, could have been better. You have yawn and roll controls on the same key! What?!?! Who thought that was a good idea? I could live with helicopters (played on KBAM), but planes control ridiculously!
Voice acting is horrible. I don't think I heard such bad VA (in AAA title no less!) in a long time. I know they are soldiers ghosts, so they are maybe supposed to be so emotionless, unlike the "ordinary people", but the problem is not only in deliverance, but also in the stuff they mumble under the nose.
I might get it in the future though, because I do like to play mindless repetitive games from time to time. But for the time being I will spend my money on something else, like MEA, or not.
I do wish Ubi would cut some resources they spend on developing huge map sizes and spend it on something else, i.e. story, mission variety, AI, overall quality of the game.
Even with 1/3 on the current size Wildlands would be still be big, but instead would also be good. Instead Ubi chose, as usual, to go with over 9000 square kilometer of repetitiveness and mediocrity...DukeCLR, Spartan@HIDevolution and Atma like this. -
I remember when Ghost Recon was a serious tactical shooter. Instead of GTA with mall-ninja "elite operator" character skins. *sigh*

it has more tactics than GTA, trust me. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I would call it a action-tactical shooter. World is gorgeous and taking out outposts is very fun. Just flew my first heli and it was a blast taking out a camp from the air. Co-Op is also a plus!

Same with Fallout. Fallout 4 is just an over glorified Minecraft with mutants.
I do think comparing it to GTA is a bit steep. At least GTA single player part. They have better narration, detail and production values. Although it might change - I think R* got a taste of what kind of money mindless multiplayer games can bring... -
Is this what we've all come to?? Beside the nasty performance issues?!?!?! We're shelling out top dollar for a AAA title that has performance issues??? COME ON!!! I wonder how these companies would react if no one bought their game until it was in the bargain bin. I bet there would be far fewer Day 1 patches and other such nonsense. All my issues with performance went away when I turned off NVidia turf effects. They don't have their new driver available yet so this might be why. Now I get 50 to 60 frames on mostly ultra with my 1080 sli laptop...in 4k!Last edited: Mar 7, 2017 -

It looks great but I'm not too sure the tactical squad thing is my cup of tea. It's hard enough to deal with in BF1.

I have no interest in the game, but it's probably a good benchmark for future games. For open world games. For maybe Elder Scrolls 6 (even if it isn't in production yet).
High Preset: 38fps for 1050ti and 32fps for 1050
Very High Preset: 30fps for 1050ti and 25fps for 1050
However in the review above they say 38fps and 32fps apply to "Very High Preset". This either means the reviewers mixed something up, or the developers pulled a magic trick to give us the same fps as previously on "High".
Edit: okay, maybe that's why...
We did however shy away from them for a more objective comparison so we use Very high' preset (inclusief SSBC and TAA). However more specific gameworks enhanced features like Turf FX, HBAO, and Godrays have been disabled.Last edited: Mar 8, 2017 -

In solo you just basically use your AI teammates for Sync Shot, otherwise they are useless (except for the times you need to be revived, but man, sometimes they really take their sweet time doing so). Usually I just stealthed through the base on my own, killing dudes one by one.
In co-op it's more fun, but it didn't come from using advanced tactics - randoms I played with weren't very tactical. We would just drop into the base and wreck crap up.
For truly tactical gameplay I play SWAT4 co-op.

I was excited to see that you could tackle this game solo, but if you have AI partners with you all the time, that's significantly less exciting.

Nope, didn't pay for win10. It was a free upgrade from win8.1, also used all those wonder tools to try and disable the spyway in win10. Besides , only use pc for gaming, benching and nothing really important. -

new patch today made performance and gpu usage (SLI) much better. Game plays very well for me now maxed out (minus nvidias dumb turf effect). It also fixed the texture issues. I'm glad to see Ubi still cares much for multi gpu users and made this patch primarily for us!!
