Hey guys, has anyone tried running GRAW on a Dell 9400 or e 1705? i played the 360 version, and liked the game so much. i was impressed by the graphics, gameplay and everything, so now i'm thinking about trying it on my Inspiron 9400. as for my specs: t7200 core 2 duo, 2 GB, go 7900gs.
    what do you guys think?

You should be able to run it fine, however, some settings are locked if your videocard does not have 512mb. I know, its lame.

Your resolution will probably be locked, and GRAW wont let you push it to native.

I have a 7800 GTX in my notebook, which is slightly faster than the 7900 GS. GRAW runs fine at high and at native 1920 x 1200 resolution.

I had to find the display config file and edit it to get the settings that I wanted, since the options within the game prevented some options (resolution, quality, etc..)

Check out www.tweakguides.com for GRAW, they have extensive info to optimize or edit the games options. Thats how I got around the native resolution lock.

I've noticed that too; like many other games ported from the Xbox 360, GRAW is poorly coded. Unless you have a top-end PC, gameplay will be very choppy. On my desktop (3.2GHz P4, 2GB RAM, 256MB 9800XT), I can barely run at minimum settings. My laptop does a bit better but not by much.

Your laptop, considering the specifications, should run fine.

and it's not just GRAW, the same goes for RS:Vegas and SP:double agent.

having a higher resolution makes your GPU work harder to render it... get you a hit in the overall performance compared to having a smaller resolution.

Its not too significant, but a little noticeable. I have WUXGA and play all games at native, always above 30fps at High settings (even during heavy situations).

GRAW is highly playable on your specs.. SC: DA was the worst thing UBI could do... Its buggy as hell and they dont even support it tht much. Just a single patch released for it.. R6 Vegas on the other hand runs pretty great if u patch it up and tweak it a little bit.. GRAW after the patches is running fine but no reason for it cause GRAW2 is on the way... I wonder how tht will turn out after looking at UBI's current situation... Its sad...

Ubisoft seems to be putting their development focus on X360. GRAW on PC wasn't as good as the 360 version, even the missions are different. I haven't tried SCDA yet but with all the news about bugs, I will most likely skip it. R6Vegas for PC was reported to be 100% same with 360 version for mission content.

True.. But its fun never the less.. It needs a lot of tweaking and at times my frames still drop to 25... I dont recommend it unless you have, atleast an x1600!
