Concept seems terrible. Too simple, ghosts hackable? The whole purpose of the series is understanding what is the ghost... Ghost in the shell, an android with human brain, can she have one, do AI? Is ghost from intelligence/self awareness or biological?

Might be a fun game, but would be a better single player game IMO. A mix of those PS4 interactive movie and FPS. Though the whole fun would be able to control the whole team as they each have different strengths and abilities. Section 9 was not a full on assault unit, it was a special police unit that unraveled conspiracies that others could not. They didn't go full on assault, it was always more intricate, like a probe going through the cracks, and then leave with valuable data.

They were definitely not the first line of defense. They weren't even defense, their purpose was to seek out corruption and anti cyber warfare. Japan's self defense army and police are the first lines of defense... Ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of welfare and other agencies had far more man power and strength than Section 9 did. Was difficult to shut down Section 9 in the second series since their specialty was subversion and being hidden, not full on assault.

But that was all on the surface, under the surface, it was a philosophical discussion of the meta-physical, psychology and group behavior. It was about who people are, how they can be manipulated, individual morals vs societal morals.

Point being I don't understand how this generic looking MMO FPS has anything to do with GITS.

As a big fan of the show, it does seem like a cheap cash in, just using their universe and characters for a generic FPS. I'm going to get it and hope that it isn't, but even if it is, I'm glad it's not pretending to live up to the show and fall flat. I think that would be a bigger disappointment.

it's essentially a slim down version of black ops 3 but with a GITS skin. Just don't expect too much going in and you'll probably have fun!

...um.. there's a conspiracy at corporate HQ going on to ghost-hack everyone with bad VR hijacks through the game?

Seems to be working too. Heard the first few lines of the IGN early review: "I have absolutely no knowledge of the Ghost in the Shell universe. But the ones who do will appreciate this rich world and all that it has to offer".

I mean, really? Ziff-Davies pays you to write stupid crap, and this is what they get out? Like I said, it's a conspiracy. There's no other explanation. No human being can be this stupid and thoughtless.

If you don't take it seriously then I think you'll like it. It is still in early access so there's heaps of bugs like the full screen mode is actually borderless full screen as I discovered through recording with shadowplay. It means no adaptive vsync.

Gonna be playing more when I get home: just got out of seeing TFA.

Nonsense, i'm not willing to pay for an unreleased free game, just for alpha access (+3 skin). Which is basically a balance retouche from all the other free Nexon games.

it's ok not to pay for it if you think the game is not ready. but to say that it is not fun (and by extension say that me liking it and my opinion on it is wrong) when you haven't tried the game is a bit low.

come back when you've tried the game and have enough to make an informed opinion!

You did mention that it plays like COD and believe it or not, not everyone likes that type of gameplay.
I watched some gameplay footage of this game, and it's not my cup of tea. Maybe Kirr thinks the same.
I'm glad you like it and enjoy playing it

i am not saying that people MUST LIKE this game, but to say "nonsense" pretty much means "you're wrong" and I don't think that's fair especially if you haven't even touched the game.

why is it wrong for me to like this game? i do recognise it has its issues but that doesn't stop me from playing and having fun: which is the most important thing - to have fun.

if you're not interested in the game then you are not obliged to comment.

I will play it everyday 'till my mouse clicks... when it finally comes out as a free game. They try to milk the hell out the DirtyBomb hype with this.

I don't play anything by Nexon. They inevitably get really greedy with the F2P model and it becomes difficult to keep up with those spending money.

You do know that both games are not developed by nexon right? Dirty bomb was developed by splash damage and GITS was developed by neople. I don't see any P2W in either game.

Its just a matter of time for GITS. Most Nexon betas don't have P2W until launch. The game is going to have to generate revenue somehow. Sorry I've been burned by Nexon before, its not happening again. I mean the fact that the beta comes with unlocked character cards and in game currency makes it pretty certain there will be P2W in the final game, even if it's just selling in game currency packs.
