On the announcement it says that it will come out in late july. When do you guys think it will appear in dell notebooks? Is this going to be a quick swap or take a few weeks to get in notebooks?
Also, will they be much more expensive with the core 2 duo and gma x3000?
Is it worth waiting for the E1405 with these new features or get one now?
Im just afraid that I will wait for it but it will be much more expensive. I can get a good E1405 now for a grand.
Finally, anyone know about the difference b/t gma 950 and x3000? I know core 2 duo wont be much difference over the core duo but I am curious about the video cards.

If you need the notebook now, then go for it. Really for those of us who just surf the web, do some photoshoping every once and a while, and use MS word. It's not going to make much difference. If you like to have the latest and greatest then wait. I'm sure it will be more expensive alteast at first although Dell doesn't take long to bring the price down. Somewhere around the last week of July is what the announcement said. It'll probably be close to the end of the year before it actually shows up in notebooks.

I'd like to see some real world benchmarks compared to the GMA 950.

If you want to know the difference between the 950 and the x3000 have a look at the following link

I'm moving this to the Gaming forum since it is more related to graphics cards since it is more related to the X3000 and not dell.

thats interesting that intel is making a big change in its graphics card if you really need all that its better if you wait

It was announced in the DailyTech article that it's not making it to notebooks until Intel's Santa Rosa platform, which isn't out until next year.
You really want to wait six months for an upgraded IGP from Intel of all places?
