Why don't you get the 8600M?

Read some reviews of laptops that have the Geforce Go 7600 from NBR. Most of the people do FPS readings. Some recommendations would be:

    Compal HGL30
    Compal HEL80
    HP Pavilion dv9000t
    Toshiba Satellite A135
    Sony FE

Also check out these laptops with the Radeon X1600/X1700, which is comparable to a Geforce Go 7600:

    Asus F3Jp
    Asus V1Jp
    Asus A8Jp
    Asus Z96J
    Asus S96J
    LG S1

And I agree with nbaumann's comment - why not go for a laptop with the 8400M GT, 8600M GS, or 8600M GT?

No not really. I have seen notbooks with the 7600 gs which are more expensive then notebooks with the 8600.

Awesome notebooks with awesome specs and the 8600M GT cost around the 1400-1600 euro range, thats about 1881 - 2150 dollars

Not really, and even if it's a few bucks more you'll save yourself alot of pain.

I didn't look at the notebook he wanted to buy. Anyways, for that price you're paying you can definitely get a notebook with the 8600M for similar price. One issue that it won't be 17 inch and you won't have as much hd space if you want to stay in that $1250 price range (assuming that you'll upgrade to 2 gigs of ram)
