Hey everyone! I know you're all just as excited as I am about the soon release of DX10 mobile cards! I'm just left wondering, how much do you think the computers with Santa Rosa and DX10 are gonna cost?

Should be about a few hundred dollars more, nothing like +500/+1k. It'll still be in people's budget, but just haveta wait a few for the notebooks to be released....

I can see companies like Alienware charging a fair bit as their 'clients' tend to have money to burn.

MilestonePC.com is accepting preorders for the upcoming Asus C90, which has an NV Go 8600GT. At $1050, the price is not bad (just for the bones).

I could see these being affordable. I would worry about battery life more than the price.

New generations of Asus F3's and A8's are being equipped with the budget Geforce Go 8400, which is 128 MB VRAM and 768 MB shared. The current A8/F3 is around $1200-$1600; don't expect it to stray too much from that price point (the $1600 is for the A8Js, which has the Go 7700, which is being replaced with the higher end Go 8600, as opposed to the lower end A8Sc, which has the Go 8400)

How much do you think the newer A8 is gonna be? I'd like to have a 14.1" with a 8600 but I can't go over $1700

I think 500-1k is a very pessimestic (albeit possible) prediction. It looks more like +100-250 for a refresh and +400-500 for a refresh + upgrade.
