    does Go7700 have a 256bit memory bus ?

    and x1700 a 128bit memory bus ?

Both cards use a 128 Bit bus. They are both very good cards. Thay are also very popular because manufacturers can put these cards into small notebooks, which results in a highly protable machine, and a powerful one.

In terms of performance, the Go 7700 should perform at a higher level that the Mobility X1700. This may be the case, because the Go 7700 is newer, and has more piplines than the Go 7600 is replaces. The Mobility X1700 is not too much more powerful than the X1600, but it has more core advancements, that may help it out with power optimisation.

so i guess at this point, there is still no 256bit memory bus GPU in any notebook less than 17" ??

A 264-Bit memory bus is expensive to integrate into a card. The added benefits don't justify the cost. Instead, ATi and nVidia will simply use a slightly less "large" bus at 128-Bit, and to make up for some of the speed difference, tey will raise the clock speeds on there cards. Put simply, there are other ways to make a card faster, without using such a bus.

Having said that, they may integrate larger busses, when the demand grows. Memory busses will certainly increase, but at the moment, particularly for the mainstream and cards like the Go 7700, they don't really require a large bus.
