I haven't been able to find a lot of data on it so I'm curious if anyone knows how much of a performance increase a new dv2000t Core 2 Duo with a 7200 go would be over my current v2000z Turion. I play some games and (obviously) lowest settings and some jerkiness don't bother me much since I'm used to my x200 but would I see a notable increase?

The difference is significant.
You can not compare an integrated to a dedicated video card. -
Even at the lowest level of discrete graphics? Would a 7200 be able to run Civ 4 or Company of Heroes with no hiccups?
-
Significant, but not enough that it would make a real difference. The 7200 isn't a very powerful card at all.

Have you read this already? It has a lot of useful information on this.

The go 7200 is a relatively weak GPU, but will be an improvement over integrated graphics. You should be able to play those games with this card--but you may have to go at lower settings. -
Yes I've read that, I'm just looking for more information about it.

The 7200 is actually a poor card and will not yield much better results over the X200, unfortunately.
To really call something a visible upgrade you'd want to be hitting the 7400 range of cards or above. -
just to let you know.... i run company of heroes on my v2000 with no hickups but it is also on the lowest settings and i only have a sempron3000 not even a turion

What are you guys talking about? My Geforce Go 7200 offers a significant improvement over the x200. X200=554 3dmark05 7200=1800 3dmarks, about triple the performance
-
But the 7200 is not remotely three times better then the x200 in real time gaming.
3dmark is worthless in most aspects, especially when using it to compare gaming performances like in this case.
Going from a x200 to a 7200?
